Gualdo del Re In Suvereto

We were a little disappointed because, accustomed to the "modest" prices of Tuscany, we never expected to pay €9.50 per 100g for a Florentine steak. The quality is certainly high, but in the area, Florentine steaks can easily be found for €6.50 or €7 per 100g at most. The B&B where we stayed recommended the place as "excellent value for money." We don't argue about the quality, but the price was outrageous. We only had the Florentine steak, a shared side dish, a dessert each, and a glass of wine each (not even a full bottle!): €160 for two for dinner in a secluded location, with no special ambiance or view, seems truly excessive. It's a shame, because if we'd spent around fifty euros (even more), the review would certainly have been different.

On Saturday, we visited Gualdo del Re with our school (Scuola Europea Sommelier Firenze) and had a truly wonderful time! From the tour to the wine tasting to the food served. Special thanks to sommelier Lorenzo, who guided us through the winery!
