🍷 Stylish Restaurant in a Dreamy Location – With Minor Flaws For many years, we've been visiting Restaurant Marzzardit, located directly on the shores of Lake Maggiore – and the location remains exceptional. The terrace offers a magnificent view of the lake, and the ambiance is stylish and inviting. A particularly nice touch: many guests even arrive by boat from Ascona or Locarno, which lends the place a special atmosphere. The wine list is impressive and leaves nothing to be desired – even high-quality wines from Tuscany are not uncommon. Our red wine for €80 was excellent and very reasonably priced. The freshly baked bread also deserves praise – aromatic and made with care. The service was, as always, friendly and attentive. However, those arriving without a reservation should expect a wait or even a cancellation – the tables are in high demand, which speaks to the restaurant's quality. The culinary experience was a mixed bag: While the homemade meatballs and creamy panna cotta were very impressive, the pasta with truffle and clams unfortunately didn't live up to expectations. For almost €30, it was noticeably lacking in seasoning – a shame, as this shouldn't happen at this level. 💬 Conclusion: A stylish and charming restaurant with excellent wine and a beautiful view. Minor shortcomings in the kitchen marred the overall impression this time, but we'd gladly return – hoping for more consistency in the main courses.

Our favorite hot spot on the way to Luino, just across the Italian border. Great ambiance, excellent food, and a wine list that leaves nothing to be desired.

Wonderful view, fine cuisine, and warm service – with minor setbacks during peak times Yesterday, seven of us and our dog had lunch on the beautiful roof terrace – the view of Lake Maggiore is simply stunning. The ambiance: stylish, cozy, and inviting. Even the appetizers were a highlight – delicious, skillfully prepared, and lovingly presented. The main courses also impressed with their quality and freshness. A particularly pleasant experience: the waiter took the time to explain the dishes to us in detail, including the preparation and ingredients – this built trust and was a pleasant surprise. The service was friendly and attentive. As the restaurant filled up, however, the staff were a bit at their limits – minor things were forgotten, but this was more than compensated for by the friendly nature of the team. We're all human, and the friendliness was always there. The restaurant's prices are on the higher end – not unusual for the region. However, if you value quality, a great culinary experience, and a magnificent view, you'll be in good hands here. We'd love to come back!
