Grottino In Rieti

A rustic restaurant below street level in the center of Rieti, very cool, with just two flights of stairs to climb. Homemade cuisine, just like it used to be. The fregnacce alla Sabinese are excellent and delicious, with fresh tomatoes, olives, and porcini mushrooms. The waitress is friendly but alone and chatty...come with all the urgency you left behind. A first course, second course, side dish, tiramisu, and a bottle of water for €23... The mayor just walked in.... The restaurant has photos of famous people.

Situated in a stunning location, right in the center of the square, this restaurant is a must-try for those seeking substance. The food is excellent, and the value is among the best in the area. The only drawback is the service, which is decidedly slow, requiring a good deal of patience. However, the experience ends on a rare note: a perfectly crafted moka pot, perfect for rounding off the meal with a taste of home. Recommended, provided you have time.

Traditional food, authentic, timeless flavors. Friendly and courteous service, but you have to be patient because Cristina is the only one serving the entire dining room! Friendly and welcoming atmosphere, without pretentiousness.
