Gli Orti di via Elisa In Lucca

This historic restaurant is a must-try in Lucca. The pizza was good, with excellent dough, but it was sparsely topped. The tortelli were also excellent. Recommended restaurant.

Gli Orti di Via Elisa is one of those places you return to and think, "Thank goodness it exists." The menu changes but remains consistently interesting: carefully crafted dishes, seasonal ingredients, and never boring pairings. The atmosphere is welcoming and meticulously curated, often with details or decor that recall the seasons or local events, a sign that there's genuine attention here, not just marketing. The staff is always friendly and attentive, never intrusive. And what's rare: for those who don't eat animals, there's always an excellent selection of vegetarian or vegan dishes, thoughtfully crafted and not just a "sad alternative." In short: you eat well, you feel good, and you always leave feeling like you've made the right choice.

A must-see on every visit to Lucca, whether comics or not. Friendly and welcoming staff, a refined atmosphere, and excellent food.

Really delicious gluten-free pizza

From the front, it's certainly not obvious how big it is. Several rooms with diverse, tasteful decor. A well-organized menu, but the wine list is a bit much. There's also a nice cocktail menu, but they don't give you much time. The dishes are tasty, but not spectacular. The staff is polite.

I've known the dishes for years, and they're generally good, but the quality varies. The gluten-free tortelli with ragù are very good, but other first courses have sometimes been a bit bland.

Compliments to the kitchen and the waiters, who were extremely attentive and patient, despite the many lively children and tipsy adults.

Absolutely top-notch and worth a try. The atmosphere is casual and feels like home. The traditional dishes are excellent. Special mention goes to the sommelier, who recommended an excellent Montepulciano. We'll definitely be back!

Recommended. Excellent value for money. We had a delicious pizza; just the right amount of crispiness and plenty of toppings. My daughter had a delicious porcini mushroom risotto. The desserts are also worth a try! The tiramisu was fantastic. Kudos to both the owner and staff for their politeness and professionalism.
