Attracted by the rave reviews, I wanted to try it, and I can say that... yes, it's a nice, well-kept place. The service was very sketchy, if not poor, with zero professionalism. I won't go into detail because I don't want to be harsh. I'll just mention the owner and the tall, pale-eyed waiter. The food was so-so... I hear talk of tradition, absolute goodness, but I didn't find any of that. The first courses were good, except for the farinata, which arrived cold. Otherwise, nothing special. The price was, let's say, acceptable. I won't be back, much less recommending it to friends and acquaintances.

For Christmas, my sister gave me a gift card that included a dinner for two, including: welcome aperitif first course second course dessert and coffee, obviously excluding drinks. A very beautiful place with an elegant, vintage touch. We were greeted with professionalism and kindness by all the staff. Despite having lived in Lucca since birth, I had never been to this restaurant, a huge mistake, given the quality and deliciousness of the dishes. A risotto lover, I was literally captivated by the pumpkin risotto with biscuit crumble, absolutely the best risotto I've ever eaten. The tagliatelle with cod in a stew were also delicious. For the main course, a slice of amberjack with cabbage, good but bland. I would have preferred something more flavorful, and rovelline with mashed potatoes, a typical dish. For dessert, caramelized fruit with vanilla ice cream, definitely not my favorite dessert, and cheesecake with berry sauce, delicious and creamy. Of course, we opted for a small bottle of wine, since I'm teetotal. In short, we had a wonderful time throughout. I thank the wait staff who, with extreme kindness and courtesy, accompanied our dinner. A restaurant worth visiting at least once.

We get off to a bad start; we're assigned a table in the corner of the veranda, where cold drafts continue to come in through the window. When I point this out to one of the waiters, he asks me to move a chair (not exactly professional), but the situation doesn't change. We even put on a napkin he "kindly" provided to block the draft, but it proves ineffective. We ignore the situation and move on. The quality/price ratio is completely unbalanced. Tortellini in brodo is average, considering it's a simple, unpretentious dish. Lucchese-style lentil soup is average, considering it's a simple, unpretentious dish; I've had better in the area (see; Vispa Teresa, a few steps away). Toasted beans with sage and rosemary are probably an incomplete dish; they're dry and completely tasteless. Stewed artichokes EXCELLENT Cantucci and Vino Santo. The cantucci are probably packaged (not at all satisfying and full of sugar with a mushy consistency). I've had better in the area. Poached pear EXCELLENT 2 bottles of water, a glass of red, and 2 excellent coffees = €80.00 Praise to the very young waiter, a dark-haired man with blue eyes and a beautiful smile. Of the four waiters we interacted with, he was the only one who was professional, friendly, patient, and very attentive. He brings sunshine into the restaurant, so keep that in mind (he alone deserves 5 stars for service). Overall, my personal impression is that there's more image than substance. I don't think I'd go back.

A place with attention to detail where you can find typical Lucca dishes at prices consistent with the service/quality

Attentive service and extremely friendly staff. A lovely, elegant, and welcoming atmosphere. The cuisine is amazing, with great attention to intolerances and gluten-free options, offering a wide selection. The bread is delicious, and you can mop it up with bread. If the quality of a place is also reflected in the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the attention to detail, this is the best in Lucca. The local wine is excellent!!! Definitely worth a try!!!

Excellent food, polite, friendly, and knowledgeable staff, and a welcoming atmosphere. What more could you ask for? We stumbled upon it by chance, and then returned with a great pleasure. If you're in the area, it's a must-try, but make sure to book ahead.

Following the reviews, we ate there today, I recommend it 100%. The food was delicious and the service perfect. They were very kind to my son who is celiac (the gluten-free bread was excellent).

A wonderful sensory experience. In addition to taste and smell, we also delighted our eyes. We're grateful for the welcome, as we popped in without a reservation, accompanied by our two dogs, one of whom was definitely off-target 😅 But we were invited to sit anyway. Something I truly appreciated. The exquisite cuisine was a plus. Congratulations!
