A friend of mine and I went to Giapp-one here in the center of Perugia and had a really great time. The lady who runs the place was super nice and kind; she even let us talk to the chef because we had a Doraemon T-shirt and an Evangelion sweatshirt. The atmosphere is beautiful, full of authentic Japanese items that make you feel like you're actually in Japan :)
The food was delicious and the prices were super affordable: for two of us, we had 2 starters, 2 main courses, 1 dessert, 1 water, and a bottle of sake (really delicious), spending only €42.
We'll definitely be back and highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area ^^ 🇯🇵

Finally, a simple and authentic place: real food, cooked with care, just like you'd eat in a Japanese home or restaurant.
The yuba don and ice cream enchanted me.

We entered this intimate and welcoming restaurant, intrigued by the dishes on the menu already displayed outside. We ordered wakame seaweed, broccoli, an oyako-don, a yuba-don (vegan), and three mochi (all vegan) with red beans, matcha green tea, and peanuts. All the dishes were delicious! The service was attentive and fast, and everyone was very kind! We'll be back!

My sister Tiziana and I had a great time! 👍 High-quality food at reasonable prices. It was an honor to eat there, coming from the province of Benevento. The owners are incredibly talented and professional. I recommend everyone from Naples and Campania to try "real" Japanese cuisine. Thank you so much. We'll be happy to return. 👍

Giapp-One has become a regular stop when I go to Perugia. The atmosphere is welcoming, the food is fabulous (with vegan and vegetarian options), the prices are fair, and you can tell everyone who works there is passionate about their work.

Nice restaurant, good food, helpful and fast staff despite the small number of people working there, and affordable prices.
It's more of a place dedicated to preserving the tradition of home-cooked Japanese food than a restaurant offering excellent quality.
Perhaps the only problem is that the seating is uncomfortable and too close to other diners.
This is, of course, my opinion.
P.S. You'll want to make a reservation because it fills up quickly.

A unique and original place, entirely family-run, offering authentic Japanese cuisine through and through. The menu includes set dishes, many of which are vegetarian, and other truly interesting off-menu options.
We tried the off-menu eel, and that dish alone was worth the experience. Afterwards, we ordered Japanese meatballs, fried chicken, two vegetarian main courses (one with marinated eggplant and rice and the other with tofu, vegetables, and rice), some side dishes, and homemade mocchi. Everything was truly well-made and delicious, simple, and satisfying. The hostess makes everything even more fun, cracking jokes and even recommending dishes.
