We went to dinner here recently after arriving in Palermo, we had the hotel next door and the positive reviews convinced us. The waiter who served us was very friendly and explained and advised us to choose the food and offered us to try a local wine. The surprise came when paying. They charged us for a water that we hadn't asked for, the glasses of wine were multiplied by 2 and he charged us for the bottle of wine that he never left on the table, served us and took it away. After explaining the error to him, he changed it for us, but he was a bit angry. A shame because the food was good and so was the attention, but we left with the impression that they wanted to screw us for being tourists.

Not much food, neither pasta nor pizza. High prices for the local average and for the quality of the food, the only good thing is the discount with The Fork. The waiter was really capable and attentive, very good!

Siamo arrivati tardi a Palermo con il traghetto e dopo esserci registrati in hotel abbiamo cercato un posto per cenare. La piacevolissima scoperta è stata il ristorante Giambertone. Locale molto accogliente, una bella atmosfera e cibo ottimo!!! Da 10 e lode. E cosa dire di Tania e Marco, ragazzi meravigliosi, ci hanno accolto nonostante fosse tardi, e ci hanno fatto sentire come a casa, Ci ha fatto un immenso piacere cenare nel vostro locale. Vi terremo presenti nelle nostre prossime tappe in Sicilia. Bravi ragazzi continuate così!

Posto molto carino, personale professionale, gentile e accogliente. Buon cibo e buona qualità delle materie prime. I prezzi assolutamente convenienti L'impasto della pizza buonissimo!

07/12/2024: So if you want to be welcomed like the Italian teacher who fills you with information, this is the right place for you. As soon as we were seated, the waiter took us back in time. Explaining to us their prized meats which we didn't care about, in fact a boy from another table got up to gently caress it like your grandfather does when you're being naughty. The menu was offered with our personal data sold to third parties. Let's move on to the sore point: the food, we ordered 2 hamburgerz, a pizzaz and a club sandwichz. The Bun of the burger was burnt, the egg was as neutral as Swiss during those times, the burger was juicy fortunately. But if I pay you 15 bombs for a product, I want it done well, first choice chips were decent. Club sandwich deserves 1.5 sandwiches out of 5 as Cicciogamer 89 the leader of the hermit crabs says, but the pink sauce is good in that place, keep it up. Good pizza from what I understand. 0.5 of natural water at €2.50, they sell it as if it were gold and in reality it is San Benedetto, collected in Scorzè with waste water diluted from Marghera. They want to foist the dessert on you by saying it's homemade, we won't fall for it. You keep €7 worth of tiramisu even if it's as good as the waiter says

17/08/2024: Great spot to stop along the busy street. Perfect for a drink and some food and a little people watching. The prices are good, the food is good and so are the drinks. The staff are friendly and great so stop in for bit while you are walking the city. You will not retreat it!
15/08/2024: I couldn’t rate Maqueda Bistrot any higher! This was my 3rd time in Sicily with my family. Going in the middle of summer, roaming around the streets of Palermo, you could imagine how much we were looking forward to a spot to just sit down and relax. This place was the spot! I first wanted to point out, we had sat down twice already in a couple of places a Ballaro, sweaty and uncomfortable we left. We then we’re on the hunt for something fast and some shade, amongst all the restaurants along that main strip, inviting us in, the team at Maqueda Bistro caught our eye with a beautiful fresh drink awaiting us from the bar window. They did not ask us to sit down, which enticed my husband and child even more. We had beautiful fresh bread with our caponata, bruschetta with pomodori, octopus and potato salad, clam and mussels pasta and a pistachio gamberi pasta finishing with a beautiful shot of limoncello. They had aircon inside, which made it even more enjoyable, however the service of the staff, the atmosphere and the food was top shelf amazing. My husband is Italian (Sicilian) and quoted this was one of the best pasta dishes he’s had. I couldn’t recommend this place enough! It is the best, please check it out.
