Giallozucca In Mantova

The place was chosen because it offers vegan dishes on the menu, but unfortunately it is not enough to remove animal foods to make correct vegan cuisine... in fact, forgetting to include legume proteins is a serious mistake, especially if you charge 18 euros for the second course and call it "steak lettuce" and are two seared salad leaves.. even the dessert can definitely be improved, an appetizer without infamy or praise as it is only courgettes. The first one was good: even if it wasn't necessary, a legume paste was used and the chestnut seasoning was very good. The place is beautiful and the desire to also work with plant-based food is there and it shows, but I recommend studying vegan nutrition in a little more depth.

I had dinner in this restaurant with my family on a Saturday in the first ten days of January 2025. We found it by chance and fortunately found a table for us. Beautiful location with lots of wines on view and books. We opted for a platter of cured meats, pumpkin tortelli and cream and ham agnolotti. Excellent flavours, well prepared dishes and fast and punctual service. Average prices for the place. I recommend it.

Superlative experience. Unique welcome, we immediately felt at ease, with all the attention from the staff. Excellent dishes in perfect Mantua style. Not very touristy, I think I was very lucky in discovering this place. The only negative note is the rarity of a place like this :) Until next time visiting beautiful Mantua

Priceless to dine among books and photographs, served with friendliness and professionalism.

Genuine and familiar welcome, friendly environment because it is the perfect combination of artistic tavern and restaurant. Surrounded by paintings, photos and books but above all by Maurizio's friendliness and helpfulness. The communication between Maurizio and the kitchen via a landline is very nice, furthermore the dishes arrive via a freight elevator directly to the dining room. We went here because it was reported as a place with vegan options and in fact we found several, specified in the menu (but also some veganizable dishes such as mushroom risotto.). I took a legume pasta with a pepper cream (called "vegan rosé"). The vegan scallops (made of aubergines) and mushroom cream are excellent. We shared a side dish of dodolini aubergines with tomato. To our surprise, even the dessert, a hazelnut and caramel panna cotta, was vegan, with the addition of sesame brittle on top. Excellent value for money. I would also like to point out the availability of veg wines!!

Then the gentleman who served the table is wonderful! Congratulations for how he flawlessly tackled the episode together with Materiarima and Al Gallo! Attirati dal menu interessante decidiamo di pranzare in questo piccolo ristorante. Ci ritroviamo in un ambiente informale e accogliente. La titolare sorridente, brillante e disponibile nelle nostre richieste. Cibo ottimo, misto tra tradizione ed innovazione, con ottime proposte vegane, vegetariane e celiache (cosa assolutamente non scontata). Ci capita poche volte di uscire da un ristorante così soddisfatti, mangiando bene e spendendo il giusto. Prossima visita a Mantova, torneremo sicuramente!
