If there were 6 stars, they would get them from me! The waiter is really great. Attentive to allergies and diets but above all someone who makes the evening a party! He sings, is cheerful and we even got a poem recited for dessert! A real TOPPER!

Wonderful service, great atmosphere and delicious food. A great hidden gem in a back alley of Mantua. Well worth a visit if you want to escape to a peaceful grotto.

The place was chosen because it has an agreement with the music festival underway in Mantua. When I made my phone reservation, I did not associate its name with participation in a well-known television format that pits 4 restaurants from the same city or area against each other in each episode... a competition not won by Giallozucca, but, as we know, some competitors often play strategy by making un-"gentlemanly" jabs at their colleagues... So, not at all influenced by the television program, I enjoyed delicious cuisine, a welcoming and relaxing environment, and above all the kindness and helpfulness of the managers! I will definitely come back to visit you to try other dishes from your kitchen, but I can already say that your semifreddo alla sbrisolona is unmatched and alone is worth a stop at your place! UP DATE My wife and I returned today for lunch and had another great meal, I had the cuttlefish, and my wife had chicken, paired with and excellent Lambrusco from the region. We had some time to visit with the owner again, he is a great and generous man who helps those that need help the most. Thank you again, you can expect to see us again the next time we visit Mantova.
This is one of those places that is easy to walk by, tucked away down a short alley. It caught the corner of my eye as we were walking by and I had a hunch it would be fantastic. It is a place where you have your host make a suggestion and we were glad he did, it was amazing. There were four of us, we each got something different and shared. His Lambrusco recommendation was perfect. Great outdoor location, great meal, great conversation with the host/chef.

Good food but prices too high if compared to the quality, and especially quantity, of the food served. I would suggest more attention in the preparation of the dishes and definitely increase the quantities.

Even though I hadn't booked, they immediately and pleasantly seated me outside.
Quite good tortelli with butter and sage, with which the waitress recommends a natural wine which I accept.
Shortly afterwards, at the table next to mine, a couple who make it clear that they understand wines, ask to try what was recommended to me, but the innkeeper (the owner I deduce) dissuades them by saying - verbatim - "forget it, it's rubbish".
Now, given that I find it incorrect that "crap" was recommended to me, I also believe the different treatment between customers is incorrect, as well as being in bad taste and not very intelligent to discredit a product you sell in your place.
To have the second course the wait was endless, even though it consisted of six pieces of cheese with a few pieces of mustard (no long or particular preparation). They apologized saying "the plate didn't fit in the dumbwaiter".

The atmosphere that reigns in this place is that of lovers of good food and traditions that Sciko, the owner, knows how to present with courtesy and ability that identify a passion for presenting gourmet dishes for vegans and non-vegans, which satisfies flavors and ideas for all palates. As a vegan for more than twenty years I can only make my positive contribution to this team who know how to transform a convivial evening into a magnificent opportunity to enhance their culinary experiences. It is at the top of my culinary experiences and I recommend it without ifs or buts. Fantastic.

Siamo stati in questa trattoria per una serata tra amici ed è stata un’esperienza davvero piacevole. Il locale ha uno stile originale e creativo, con un’atmosfera allegra che ti mette subito a tuo agio. Nonostante fosse piuttosto pieno, il chiacchiericcio generale non ha mai interferito con le nostre conversazioni, il che è sempre un plus quando si cena fuori in compagnia.
Il cibo? Buono, direi, anche se non indimenticabile. Piatti semplici e ben fatti, ma senza quel tocco che ti fa dire “wow”. Ciò che però ha reso la serata speciale è stato il clima che si respirava: spensierato, accogliente e arricchito da un servizio davvero unico.
Chi ci ha accolto e servito è stato il vero protagonista della serata: un signore (forse il proprietario o il maître) simpaticissimo, alla mano e pieno di risorse. Con il suo modo di fare, è riuscito a creare un’atmosfera calda e coinvolgente, facendoci sentire quasi a casa.
Insomma, più che per il cibo, torneremo per l’energia e la simpatia di questo posto, che sa come farti passare una serata piacevole e leggera.
