Genzianella In Bracca

It is a typical restaurant of the Bergamo valleys where the polenta taragna is the flagship, accompanying the various second courses of meat which vary from baked shank, donkey meat and large game such as deer, braised stews and so on.... The first courses are also part of the typical Bergamo cuisine, risotto with porcini mushrooms, a rolled egg pasta with cooked ham, spinach and cheese inside and the typical Bergamo-style casoncelli. The first courses you can decide to eat or just one, or 2 types or even as I usually do the trio, a nice large plate with a bit of all 3 types of pasta.... To taste, first of all the appetizers also belong to the typical Bergamo cuisine and vary from typical cured meats, cheeses and various pickles and in oil such as mushrooms.... The cellar, in my opinion is the only flaw, does not have a great choice of wines, for example when we go there we take a dark wine from Valtellina (Sassella)

Eravamo in gita in Val Serina ed abbiamo prenotato questo posto che ci ispirava. In un quarto d'ora abbiamo raggiunto il locale e ci hanno prontamente introdotto nel salone dove veloci signore passavano cariche di "generosi" piatti dirette ai tavoli già tutti occupati ed in pieno fermento. Ci siamo accomodati e per non rallentare il ritmo delle suddette signore ci fatti portare tutto ciò che il menù prevedeva, senza eccezioni e cioè antipasti di affettato, paste varie compresi gli immancabili Casonsei, lasagne ed una pasta arrotolata squisita, polenta taragna morbidissima da accompagnare con carni e relativi intingoli vari. Non ce l'abbiamo fatta ad arrivare ai dolci...che comunque avevano a loro volta un bell'aspetto. Notevole e tutto di ottima qualità. Brave tutte le signore!

Highly recommended, traditional cuisine in an old trattoria setting. Generous portions, delicious, very friendly waitress, exceptional value for money.
