We arrived at the hostel as part of a study trip. The trip went very well, but the food and even the surroundings weren't as impressive as the magnificent view or the location itself, even though you have to take a boat to get to the heart of Venice. I'm giving the food 3 out of 5 stars because the butter often seemed expired, and once the chicken was slightly pink, which isn't a huge deal, but chicken is a meat that should be cooked thoroughly. As for the rooms, I give them 4 out of 5 because a few earaches and some broken items were a bit of a nuisance, but nothing too serious. The beds are quite comfortable, but the only real downside is the "certificate" – it's just a metal plate with a hole in it, even if you don't necessarily feel it while sleeping. As for the hostel's aesthetics, it's a 5 out of 5. It's very nice, and there are several activities available, like foosball, billiards, and even a PS5. The place is very cozy, there's a nice bar in the middle, and it's very well organized, from the decor to the activities. Conclusion: a good experience overall, especially for a study trip.

Having stayed in various hostels around the world, I have to admit that Generator Venice wasn’t the best among them. The price for accommodation alone is reasonable, but almost everything else costs extra: towels, padlocks, hairdryers, and even luggage storage. Not to mention the cost of getting to Giudecca. After all these additional expenses (including luggage storage, one breakfast, and vaporetto tickets), my €53.50 stay ended up costing a total of €103.05. For a female-only dorm, there is only one option: a 10-person room. There was only one bathroom in the room, with a couple more located in the hallway. The air conditioning in the room was not working, so we had to keep the windows open, which raised the noise level to an unbearable level. Without earplugs, it would have been quite impossible to sleep. Despite all these complaints, I still want to leave a big thank you to the staff. They were all friendly and willing to answer my questions. The design of the common areas was also very nice.

It was truly beautiful, very clean, everything luxurious. I really slept very well. It has excellent security and the staff was very attentive. The owner was very kind to me. If I go back to Venice, I will definitely choose them again.

Very well located and easily accessible 👌🏼 While it does have dormitory-style rooms, shared showers, and common areas, it doesn't quite capture the atmosphere of a typical youth hostel. Specifically, you can't eat outside food, and there's no fridge, microwave, or kettle available… you have to buy their food and drinks or eat out, which doesn't really fit with the hostel experience.

I had a lovely stay at generator is such a nice place for the price they charged ! And in in Venice ! The staff is very kind and polite they are very welcoming, the place is beautiful you get to see all Venice from a quiet and peaceful island and the hostel is very cosy and warm, is accesible by the maritime public transport all day all night 24h desk and food services the rooms are cosy and nice clean and with beautiful views, the only thing I would add is curtains for more privacy in the beds. this place worths each coin, never doubt of booking !!
