A great ice cream parlor, facade under construction at the moment (July 2024) but don't hesitate to stop by. The welcome is very cheerful and the ice creams are perfect.

In my opinion, this is one of the best gelato shops we had in Rome! It already ticked a box when we noticed the gelato was covered in the canisters so we decided to try some in order to beat the Rome heat. Our group tried several flavors including milk chocolate, dark chocolate, chocolate chip, strawberry, and raspberry. All the flavors were extremely flavorful and packed a punch with every single bite. It was almost 100 degrees when we visited, and I must say everyone’s favorite was the raspberry (lamponi in Italian). It was the perfect amount of sweetness and super refreshing that it honestly made us question if we should go get another one that’s how good it was. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and even gives everyone a biscuit on top of their gelato. Her name was Maria and she uses the recipes her father handed down to her… you can tell she takes a lot of pride in her work. We came here 3 times the gelato was that good. Google will not allow me to post photos at this time, which is annoying because I want to show how luscious this gelato really is. I would highly recommend stoping here, I can guarantee you won’t regret it!!

The Gelateria del Viale is absolutely among the best in Rome! I have been going there since I was little, and over the years the quality of the product and the kindness of Maria Grazia have remained a point of reference for when you are in Trastevere and want a nice ice cream! Extremely fresh, tasty products, a wide variety of flavours, in a welcoming and elegant environment. Highly recommended! 💗

Small place, take-out only. We got a €5 cone that gave us a choice of 3 flavors + cream + two biscuits. Very good pistachio and white chocolate flavor

True artisanal ice cream, with excellent raw materials. It is a very small shop but there is a nice varied choice of flavours, from the most classic to seasonal and refined flavours. The service is not very fast given the small place, but the wait is obviously worth it. An excellent hygienic choice is to place a banknote machine in front of the counter through which to pay so that the staff at the counter avoid constantly switching between contact with money and ice cream. Those who complain about the prices (€3 for a small cup) have evidently always been used to eating packaged or industrial ice cream and cannot understand that to support the use of better raw materials and longer processes you need to spend "a little more" . So, as far as I'm concerned, the price is totally in line with the quality offered. It's a shame that it closes early (maximum 10-11pm in summer, but I think this doesn't depend on the place, but rather on senseless ordinances of the municipality of Rome for a certain category of shops).

The most amazing ice-cream period. We've tried over 30 places in Rome, but nothing in taste and freshness comea close to this place. Excellent and cordial service too
