Gelateria Corniglia is tucked away behind a pretty non-descript little portal—easy to miss unless you’re looking for it, even though there is some signage. You head downstairs and suddenly land on a surprisingly nice patio where you can sit and enjoy your gelato or whatever frozen treat you’re in the mood for. The gelato itself is solid and the setting is great for taking a break from wandering the town. Service was… fine. Civil, but not exactly warm or welcoming. Still, it’s a good stop if you want a quiet spot to cool off and relax for a few minutes.

The BEST ice cream around! - Especially the slush and lemon ice cream! Two super nice ladies who served us were friendly, cheerful, and simply amazing!! We've been there twice now, the last time being 4 years ago (man with a hat). Thank you and highly recommended!

The lemon and basil granita is SPECTACULAR! One of the best I've ever tried! Besides being delicious, it's super refreshing, especially after the climb to the village!

We're repeat customers. We were here for the first time 10 years ago. Back then, the alley was still pretty quiet. We fell in love with the "basil-lemon" and "dark chocolate" ice cream flavors. 10 years later, we were delighted to see that they're still available and that they still taste great. The owner is super sweet and was happy for us. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back. So, we definitely recommend the basil-lemon flavor. The other flavors are delicious too. No wonder the ice cream is homemade. Maybe someday they'll also have strawberry-basil, because that combination tastes great too.

07/02/2026: A fantastic find in La Spezia! We ordered two small pizzas to go for €12 total, unbeatable value for a couple. What immediately struck us was the steady stream of locals grabbing slices of pizza and focaccia, clearly enjoying themselves immensely—always a good sign. After a week's holiday in Italy, this pizzeria truly embodied the authentic spirit of Italian pizzerias. The pizzas and focaccias sold by the slice are enormous, with generous portions of toppings. The dough is homemade, crispy, and delicious. From the first bite, we knew we'd be back the next day. Also worth noting: there's a dining area right next door for dining in. Special mention goes to the warm welcome: they helped us bring in the stroller and even took the time to warm up our child's meal. A huge thank you—I highly recommend this place!
