Gelateria Caffetteria Merelli ex Pozzi In Milano

I've always had a great time at this gelateria. I've been coming here for years and have always enjoyed both the gelato and the sandwiches, which I continue to find excellent. Today, having nowhere else to stop and work on my computer, I asked if I could stay at the table for a while. The gentleman there that morning was very kind and helpful, and since the place wasn't busy, I felt comfortable staying while I continued to enjoy my meal. During my stay, I had two sandwiches, a water, and a cappuccino. I'd also like to point out that during the entire time I was there, I never saw the place fill up, nor did I feel the need to free up the table for other customers. So I was disappointed that, after the shift change, two of the waitresses started making sarcastic comments about how I'd been there so long. Especially because all they had to do was politely ask me to leave, and I would have done so immediately without any problem. I will continue to return because I like the place, but I think more direct and courteous communication would have made the experience much more pleasant.

Good ice cream shop, but for takeaway... The exterior in particular is poorly maintained - a shame, because it's one of the few places in the square - I'd gladly go there for a coffee and some breakfast too, if they were more "welcoming"....

stopped by this gelato spot for breakfast - super cozy place with really friendly staff. took one bite of the brioche and instantly got why their rating’s so high: they seriously load it with filling and it tastes absolutely insane!! 🥐❤️

Good quality bar, pastry shop, and ice cream parlor, prices a bit high. I've read many reviews that insist on the rudeness of a cashier who behaves rudely with customers. It's never happened to me; if it were to happen, I'd respond in kind and report it to the owner immediately, even for a discussion. Post-hoc reviews don't help matters. This historic bar isn't located "at the end of the world," but in the southern part of the city, well-served by public transportation and full of supermarkets, shops, and services. It's certainly not a vibrant area... so much the better.
