The establishment is simply furnished, with a light but tasteful style, just like the ice cream it produces. It offers all the flavor and authenticity of good artisanal ice cream, a wide selection of artisanal products including artisanal panettone ice cream, as well as classic ice cream logs and many other products. In addition to the authenticity and flavor of every product, I found in this ice cream shop hygiene, courtesy, kindness and a knowledge of how to put customers at ease. It is located on a parallel road to the Mondragone seafront in front of a large parking space, so very convenient. The place is spacious both inside and out and served by many tables and chairs. The ice cream is delicious and with a great variety of flavors.

Now a given when I'm in the area: impeccable flavors, no "absurd" combinations, fruit flavors only if in season. Go there, it's worth the detour from the main route!

The best gelato in the area, not just in Mondragone, far surpasses the flavor and variety of flavors available, something I haven't found at other gelato shops. If you come to Mondragone, in addition to mozzarella and sfogliatella, you can't miss Bruno's exquisite gelato. Highly recommended.

22/02/2026: I had the pleasure of dining at Il Vecchio Monastero, and overall the experience was positive. The dishes are all very good, prepared with quality ingredients and featuring unique and thoughtful combinations, such as 'nduja and maruzze, shrimp and truffle, mussels and chili peppers: original combinations that manage to surprise without being overbearing. You can sense a desire to innovate while respecting flavor. The service is friendly, attentive, and helpful, making guests feel at ease. One note regarding the layout: the restaurant is located in a modern building, so it has nothing to do with the feel of an old monastery. The dining room could also use some updating, as the current table layout creates an unpleasant and less intimate atmosphere than one would expect. Overall, however, it remains a restaurant I recommend for the quality of its cuisine and the courtesy of its staff.
