Great coffee and awesome atmosphere

A former hat shop, one of the last vestiges of Esq.'s elegant neighborhood. The owners have preserved its original features and history in a charming retro setting. Excellent selection of appetizers and very friendly service. A comfortable outdoor area where you can still smoke and chat while overlooking the garden. Prices... reasonable!

There were many cafés around, but we chose Gatsby Cafe for breakfast. The coffees were delicious and the waitresses were all very friendly. It was a very enjoyable breakfast.

I stumbled upon this cafe by chance. Everyone was friendly, and the coffee and pastries were delicious! Customers kept coming in. I finished my meal, but on my way out, I saw some other pastries that looked delicious, so I grabbed some to go.

Stylishly furnished bar, attentive and friendly staff. Very good sweet and savory breakfasts. Note the beautifully filled croissants.

It all started out well... until it all went south. We ordered two aperitivo options with drinks and a portion of nachos. The nachos were good, the guacamole topped with what we think was sour cream to dilute the avocado, or perhaps a stylistic choice, I don't know. The pinsa was good. DO NOT GET THE CICCHETTI APERITIF; the cheese had strong Roman overtones—Roman, that is, rubbish—a toasted slice of toast topped with pumpkin cream, and something with an ambiguous consistency: a tiny arancini filled with just rice, a pea, and maybe half an olive, and a piece of polenta that was good. The drinks seemed non-alcoholic and watered down. We asked for a refill, which was kindly granted, but I still have doubts about whether or not that drink contained alcohol.

Excellent bar, from breakfast to lunch to drinks. The waiters are helpful and very kind, especially Fabio.
