This is our second visit, and it's a special place!
The atmosphere is very relaxed, intimate, and familiar, and the owner is attentive and warm like few others. The food is very good, but when it comes to wines, we're talking about something else entirely! He knows how to recommend, compare, and isn't afraid to open two or three quality bottles to help you find the perfect one.

It's a shame I can't give it 10 stars, because this place truly deserves it. Exquisite dishes, excellent ingredients, and simply unsurpassed desserts. You can clearly sense the work, passion, and love that goes into every detail. Impeccable service and a welcoming atmosphere.
Unless you stop by at least once, it's impossible to truly understand the value of this restaurant.
Everything is delicious and beautiful.

I happened upon it by chance one evening when I needed some takeout. The person who greeted me—I'm not sure if he was the owner or not—was incredibly kind and quickly managed to prepare a takeout for me, fulfilling a request I had made that, I realized, wasn't easy to fulfill. The food was delicious, the price was excellent, but what left me with a lasting impression was the courtesy. Absolutely, my first choice if anyone were to ask me for advice. And thanks again to the restaurant.

A wonderful May 1st... in this restaurant... where the service and the chef's explanations... were pleasant and professional.
The food has variations you don't expect... and that you don't find everywhere.
The atmosphere is truly welcoming... and attention to every detail.

Excellent food, truly. The tagliatelle with truffle is spectacular: generous portions, fragrant, and abundant with real truffle. One of the best I've ever eaten.
The service is good and the owner is incredibly kind; you can tell he puts his heart into it. The only downside: the wait times are incredibly long because he does practically everything himself, from cooking to serving. Be careful if you arrive by car: the restaurant is located within the ZTL (limited traffic zone). Check parking and permits carefully before coming, otherwise you risk a fine.

Excellent restaurant in one of Modena's most characteristic squares: quality ingredients and an interesting wine list. Recommended!!
After my first review, I've been back several times, and I can only confirm what I wrote in the first review: the gnocco with prosciutto and the tortellini with cream are AWESOME.

Frigieri Restaurant is a rarity these days.
The owner, in addition to being a 5-star chef and the only staff, does everything himself, impeccably.
Menu: Given this premise, you might expect a long wait with a full restaurant; far from it, Matteo Frigieri is the Lone Hero: he manages everything himself (kitchen and dining room) with rare mastery, without making his customers feel the pinch.
Quality of Raw Materials: The freshest products purchased daily, a choice that is directly reflected in the flavor of the dishes—a few, but carefully prepared dishes that will surely delight your palate.
Atmosphere: A well-kept and welcoming restaurant in the heart of the historic center.
Value for Money: The price is fair and absolutely in line with the experience offered.
Finding a place in Modena where the service doesn't "limp" even when you're alone is truly rare. These settings often offer an intimacy and dedication that large groups can only dream of.
