Enjoy fried fish, shrimp, and squid at a small outdoor table—don't miss it when you're in Otranto. The welcome is perfect, and the fried food is excellent. It's not far from being the best meal in Puglia.

We ate at La Matta during our trip to Otranto. We wanted fried food and our desire was fully satisfied, both the fried fish and the Salento specialties are excellent, not to mention the courgette flower! One of the best fried foods I've ever eaten! Suggestive location inside the historic center, if you are in 2, the tables outside are definitely recommended, they add value to the experience.

The best seafood and seafood I've ever eaten, fresh and without the aftertaste of old oil. Thank you Vincento for your work, it's a great place with a great atmosphere. I recommend it to everyone and I regret discovering this place only at the end of my stay :)

Very good food...we ate fried anchovies, fried food, stuffed courgette flowers and pittule...all freshly prepared by Vincenzo's mother...and then there's him, Vincenzo, whose welcome makes you feel not just another tourist, but a friend.

On a very hot day, after strolling through the old part of Otranto, we went to La Matta and ordered fried paranza and anchovies, croquettes, and stuffed and breaded zucchini flowers.
Everything was very, very good.
The beers and water were cool.
And the heat from the walk in the sun was gone.
Of special note was the friendliness of the owner, a very nice Neapolitan guy.
