Found this place by chance 15 minutes earlier near Monteriggioni and it was an incredible surprise! A restaurant which, in my opinion, in a few years I would not be surprised if it received a Michelin star for the attention to detail and the balance of its dishes. Highly recommended!

Please take time for lunch or dinner here during your visit in Tuscany. We returned after our first visit as a way to celebrate the end of our Tuscany vacation. Ask for Benjamin as your waiter and when he asks if you trust him, offer an unconditional “yes”. Benjamin’s wine recommendations were perfect pairings with our menu choices. The fillet was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The pastas tender and flavorful. If you like foie gras, order the chicken liver. Peanut butter is added for consistency and it was a great! The chef offers a very creative menu and we enjoyed our selections. Enjoy!!

EXCELLENT FOOD, SERVICE, WINE AND LOCATION!
My experience at the Foresteria Villa Cerna at the end of March was truly memorable, despite a rainy day which unfortunately prevented me from enjoying the splendid terrace overlooking the Cecchi family's vast wine lands, in the heart of Chianti Classico. I can't wait to go back in the summer, when a sunny day can make the experience even more enchanting.
Eating inside the restaurant was also surprisingly pleasant. The environment is elegant without being pretentious, with a touch of minimalism that makes everything welcoming and familiar. The paintings, books, fresh flowers and bottles of wine on display add character and create a warm atmosphere. Attention to detail is evident in every corner.
What makes Villa Cerna an unforgettable experience are certainly the quality of the food, the excellent service and the competence of the staff. The maitre d', Andrea, welcomed us with elegance and availability, telling us interesting stories and accompanying us discreetly throughout the lunch, without ever appearing intrusive. His courtesy and professionalism were impeccable. At the end of the meal, I had the pleasure of speaking with the chef, to whom I complimented him for a truly excellent job.
Let's move on to the dishes, which were a real delight. The seasonal menu offers a selection of dishes ranging from traditional Tuscan to more innovative creations, and it's difficult to choose which was the best of the three starters we ordered. But, overall, everything we tasted was impeccable. We recommend absolutely everything, along with a tasting of their excellent estate red wines.
Here's what we ordered:
- Grilled artichoke, Parmesan fondue, sage pesto: simple but well-balanced flavours.
- Buttons with Tuscan EVO oil, chickpea cream, rosemary: a unique dish that releases all its potential once you break the button in your mouth, releasing a mix of flavors between oil, parmesan and Maldon salt flakes.
- Tagliolini with truffle: the best I've ever tried.
- Fusillone Fabbri, colonnata lard, raw red prawns: a risky fish-meat dish, an experiment which was nevertheless a great success!
- Beef tartare: the preparation with the egg inside the tartare is particularly appreciated.
- Sauteed spinach: a simple dish but which really surprised us with the freshness and genuine flavor of the ingredients.
- Grandma's cake and cream ice cream: very good in a truly successful reinterpretation of them.
- Brownie, white chocolate namelaka and salted caramel ice cream: a must have!

A beautiful winery mostly making Sangiovese (Chianti classico and other 100% Sangiovese wines) but also has an incredible vermentio grown at another location. Jacopo is an incredible host with amazing knowledge who will explain the region, terroir, history of all the wines you can try. Truly a great place to try an historic tradition of Chianti Classico. Also a good place to have lunch/dinner instead of the tasting if that is preferred as the restaurant overlooks the vineyard.

Had the most amazing dinner an error with our booking with Chianti live but Andrea the man in charge/sommelier was amazing went above and beyond for us. He made our night delightful and memorable. Food was delicious and fabulous and so special every dish was on point. Also the service was impeccable. Thank you all for making our evening a fantastic experience. Everything was on point.

Enjoyed a spontaneous dinner during our Chianti trip. Great location , dinner at the terrace with great view at the vineyards
during a lovely and romantic sunset. Food was excellent and so was their
Wine ofcourse. If you like you can also book a group tour to visit their wine cellars and enjoy a group dinner afterwards in midst of the vineyard… but you will have to book in advance. Would definitely eat here again😉

Beautiful lunch for two, we were divinely welcomed by the staff and we lived an unforgettable experience, between flavors and quality food, you could feel the attention to detail and the skill of the chef. Simple but sophisticated location, the flowers in the center of the table gave a touch of elegance, which I must say are excellent company and beauty to see while tasting the dishes, since it is still winter and not being able to eat outdoors, they were of great value for me.
