Impossible not to give 5 stars to this little restaurant! The environment is refined without being formal, with the open kitchen that holds the scene wherever you are seated. Upon entering you are immediately greeted by welcoming smiles, as well as a very pleasant aroma of embers.
The menu in my opinion is not only interesting but really original: oysters and raw fish and then the cooked section, divided by type of fish: molluscs, crustaceans, white fish, blue fish and the inevitable side dishes. For each section there are appetizers and first courses. Although the ingredients are absolutely traditional, the dishes are very original and very inviting.
We ordered perhaps too much but we didn't know how to choose. Everything was exceptional, but the risotto with raw fish and fish soup and the grilled cuttlefish were my favorites.
The service is really precise, professional but at the same time friendly. So many people work to make this restaurant work well both in the kitchen and outside, all with a smile. A pleasure for the palate and for the experience.
The restaurant is definitely not cheap, also because the appetizer portions are not large and in my opinion sharing serves more than one per person. However, I find the price absolutely justified by the quality of the experience and the creativity of the dishes. We took 4 raw shrimp, 4 shared appetizers, a side dish, a shared first course, two desserts and we spent 170 euros with just one glass of wine.
I will come back to try the rest. Really good.

Excellent dishes and fresh fish, in line with expectations.
Service to be reviewed. Punctuality is recommended and penalties are shared for any delays, but then, once seated on time, we waited 30 minutes to take the order and another 30 to receive the appetizer, dinner started more than an hour later. First course then served immediately after finishing the appetizer. Expressly requested in the reservation a table not near the entrance or too close to other tables, promptly made to sit at a table next to the cash register and the entrance door, very close to another table.
The cuisine is certainly worth it and the environment is nice, shame about the service that did not make the experience what was expected.

Food Writers – Where the raw material meets the grill with skill
In Milan, among a sea of venues, finding a restaurant that really manages to stand out is not easy. Food Writers succeeds naturally, thanks to a cuisine that focuses on product quality, technique and a precise identity.
I was there for a dinner with friends and we all left with a smile on our faces. Absolute freshness is the first thing that strikes you: oysters and crudités selected with obsessive care, served with elegance and respect for the raw material. The sea on your plate, without compromises.
Among the dishes that won us over, it is impossible not to mention the spaghetti with grilled clams: an original idea, executed with intelligence and taste. Strong flavours, well-measured smoking and a balance that speaks of a chef who knows what he is doing.
The grill, in general, is the true signature of the house: present in many dishes, never intrusive, always at the service of flavour.
The service is impeccable: courteous, smiling, attentive but never intrusive. The environment is warm, modern, convivial: it makes you feel at home, but with an extra touch.
The circle is closed by a quality, extensive and well-constructed wine list, with many interesting labels and honest prices.
Food Writers is one of those places where you already know you'll return. An address worth mentioning for those who love substantial cuisine, made with head, heart and embers.

In un locale popolato di identità culinarie, è facile sentirsi privilegiati. Amici, curiosi, complici del delitto. Se il crudo è l’essenza del richiamo, la griglia diventa la vera protagonista. Uno, due, tre chef in uno. Soliloqui d’autore e qualche virtuosismo che non può essere dimenticato. Dall’ostrica alla milanese, al pan salato, passando per piattini da condividere che donano atmosfera ad un locale distratto. Peccato per un conto gonfiato da sbadataggine. Anche il dettaglio è parte dell’esperienza.

Locale dall’anima contemporanea che propone una cucina innovativa con tecniche tradizionali, ma rielaborate prevalentemente di pesce con piatti leggeri dal carattere mediterraneo. Molto interessante la proposta di ostriche e cruditè, seguita da ricette che celebrano la brace come fulcro. Materie prime di alta qualità. Personale preparato e gentile. Atmosfera accogliente.
