Ferro di Cavallo In Palermo

I had seen this place on social media and looked for it by post, it wasn't worth it✌️

If you want to eat in a real Sicilian trattoria, Trattoria al Ferro di Cavallo is a trattoria with a capital "T"! During our stay in Palermo we returned several times, attracted by the warm and familiar environment and the typical Sicilian cuisine. The restaurant is located in the historic center. The owners Valerio and Giuseppe do everything to make you feel at home! We had the opportunity to try almost all the proposals on the menu, genuine and quality cuisine. Generous and careful portions. You definitely have to try the Leopard, a very tasty and very special dish, and the non-frozen but fresh French fries, now unobtainable, simply exceptional! Finally, the prices are more than fair. A complete meal costs around €20. Absolutely recommended!

A beautiful, atmospheric shop. Great: there are three soups on the menu! Fantastic. I opted for the white bean soup. It was ok. Certainly not cooked for hours... but ok. I had Tabasco with it, which caused the waiter to have an uncharming "fit" ;-). Yes... as cooking in Palermo is generally rather neutral in flavour... I have chilli powder or fresh chilli from the Ballarò market or sometimes Tabasco with me. Usually also high-quality wild fish oil, because the "olive oil" that is served is often flavoured, flavoured with sunflower oil... I've experienced it all in Palermo. In any case, the waiter behaved rather foolishly... You don't have to be unfriendly when guests bring what restaurants don't offer themselves. And no... I didn't drizzle much Tabasco into the soup... the bottle had already been used before. I will be back. Sorry :))). And try the other two soups.

The food is great at reasonable prices

100% recommended. Peculiar place 1 minute walk from Monreale Cathedral where we drank excellent wine. Typical pasta without frills and a knuckle with very tender and well-cooked meat. The baked potatoes are also very delicious with a touch of salt and pepper.

Friendly staff and good quality dishes

Cena spettacolare. Location molto bella con camerieri bravi e simpatici. Piatti molto buoni ed economici. Consiglio vivamente di cenare in questo posto. Peccato che la domenica sia chiuso

È la terza volta che ci passiamo e sempre ci stupisce positivamente. Ho prenotato e siamo arrivati tranquillamente al nostro tavolo. Il menù è sempre classico siciliano. Una conferma!!!! A presto
