It is a great wine experience. You can taste the local Vernaccia and also the Chianti Colli Senesi, both in simple and Reserva versions. The winemakers, the waiter, even Merlot (the dog) were very friendly.
We had friends that stayed there 8 years ago and advised that it was amazing. San Donato is a working winery with with accommodations. Their wines were excellent and diners were always family style. Rustic apartments and very clean. If you wanna stay at a working winery and you don’t mind rustic accommodations this is the place for you. We enjoyed the time and will be back.
