Locale ricercato, arredi eleganti e curati. Stesso stile lo ritrovi nei piatti proposti, noi abbiamo preso l’antipasto percorso di mare dove viene proposto una mini porzione di tutti gli antipasti…buonissimo il baccalà in pastella.
Poi abbiamo preso i primi e consiglio sicuramente gli spaghetti al nero di seppia, spettacolari; uno dei primi al nero di seppia più buoni che ho mangiato. Buoni anche il risotto ai 3 carciofi e non male gli spaghetti all’assassina, ma nulla di eccezionale a mio avviso. Ottimo anche la tagliata di tonno. Buonissimo il pane che propongono, fatto direttamente dalla chef.
Abbiamo provato più dolci, ma il numero uno il tiramisù da comporre direttamente al tavolo. Ottima proposta di vini, molto variegata e che copre tutti i gusti. Servizio impeccabile e curato per i dettagli, personale veloce ed attento.
Tappa consigliata, meglio prenotare.

Locale molto carino e molto ben gestito con un servizio perfetto. Cucina molto curata e buona da cui è facile comprendere la filosofia della chef e la sua attenzione alla materia prima e ai suoi piatti, dove tutti gli ingredienti sono ben valorizzati e presentati.
Antipasto misto di pesce della casa molto buono e variegato, squisito il risotto con scampi, sapore ottimo e gusto altrettanto delicato del pesce, zuppa di pesce saporita e con un brodo favoloso.
Molto consigliato, rapporto qualità prezzo ottimo.

The place is clean and welcoming and the wait staff is professional and kind. Regarding the courses: the first courses were tasty and good-looking, while the second courses did not quite meet expectations.

The top, the class, the availability and courtesy of the staff. Refined dishes with unforgettable flavours. We were there by chance on our way back from a trip, we wanted to break up the journey a bit by sitting at a good table and we were spoiled. Of course you pay for quality and I couldn't always go back. Thanks for everything.

The food was very delicious, I recommend the restaurant if you've been here. The service was excellent, we had a lot of fun and got along very well. The place looked very nice and it is very cozy and nicely decorated. The restaurant was very hygienic and clean, the cutlery is always without stains, as is the glass. They have many types of wine, there is definitely something for everyone. I have to personally thank the boss because it was so adorable. It's best to make a reservation to eat there as it always gets very crowded.

I went there for the first time for dinner on 1 September 2024 with friends (there were four of us) choosing based on the reviews read online. The welcome was excellent, the sommelier and waiter* went out of their way* to make us feel at ease, seating us at a splendid round table, secluded and surrounded by plants. The place is extraordinarily welcoming also due to the furnishings, the lighting and the arrangement of the tables.
We started with the exceptional "sea route", a series of 5 original and exquisite appetizers, then the half paccheri cacio e pepe with raw prawns served on round steel graters, magnificent for the pecorino cream soup to be collected at the end with the spoon and the Very fresh red prawns, all flavored with lemon peel (perhaps cooked a little too al dente). Finally, the vegetable-sea fry, very fragrant and tasty, tender inside and crunchy outside thanks to the use of batter.
The wine list seems extensive to me (but I'm not an expert) and the mark-ups correct (I think more or less double the wine shop price).
The dessert menu is a little lacking. We tasted the plum bread and chocolate with ice cream (decent) and the red fruit millefeuille (good).
I returned to dine at Essenza just five days later, impressed by the first experience. This time I tried the exciting buttermilk and raw seafood and the delicious tagliatelle with butter and anchovies with hazelnuts, an interesting, refined reinterpretation of the popular classic bread, butter and anchovies.
Finally, the fresh snapper in stew is excellent.
The portions, contrary to what I have read in some reviews, are generous.
The good but not exciting desserts are the only thing that stops me from giving the food 5 stars too.
It is not a cheap restaurant, but the prices are absolutely adequate for the quality and freshness of the ingredients, the accuracy and goodness of the cuisine, the welcoming place, the efficient service, the friendliness of the staff.

Essenza: We went to dinner at this restaurant in Policoro by chef Enza Crucinio for our anniversary because it seemed like a special place and it was. We loved both the decoration, the careful attention and the food, mixing quality ingredients and made with a very good combination of flavors. We return to Spain with this good taste in our mouths
