Excellent restaurant that courageously emerges from a chorus that always and only navigates between tradition (little) and tourism, without thinking too much about the quality of the dish and offering something new, different. A beautiful experience, a restaurant with attention to detail and the possibility of drinking excellent drinks as well as wines. There are small details that can be improved to adjust the aim a little but in the end they are of little importance and are not strictly necessary. All at one. acceptable price for the quality of both food and drink. Essenza is a virtuous initiative, with the right courage, to which I wish luck in the years to come. We will be back.

Every time I'm in the Basilicata area, a stop at this restaurant is a must! Even in the new headquarters I found the same creativity and quality that I remembered. Sumptuously raw. Courteous and attentive dining room staff. What can I say, highly recommended.

I had dinner at this restaurant in Policoro. Nice dining experience. The starter was excellent and the cuttlefish ink risotto with nduja was fantastic. The fried fish was very good. For dessert I had a millefeuille with mascarpone cream and red fruits: I wasn't crazy about it. The millefeuille was actually a hard puff pastry wafer that was difficult to break. Furthermore, the plating was wrong because it was served on a micro stand with the same diameter as the puff pastry base, so with every attempt to break the shortcrust pastry wafer a piece fell to the floor!! I have been to this restaurant several times and have had a great meal every time. Quality, attention to detail, freshness and territory in the dishes, refined combinations, professional cuisine, perfect cooking of the various foods, a dedicated barman only for cocktails, professional and excellent staff and then Salvatore, the restaurant manager, impeccable. I will always gladly come back.

The location is very nice and refined. Courteous staff. Special praise goes to the girl who takes the orders: her education and kindness are out of the ordinary, as well as being very knowledgeable and helpful. Excellent quality fish and served impeccably. Unfortunately yesterday, unlike other times, they served us extremely late, so much so that we had to give up some courses. Furthermore, both the rice and the noodles were overcooked. Unfortunately, in a restaurant like this, where costs are absolutely not within everyone's reach, these things must not happen. The sweet girl was very apologetic, but the management didn't even bother to offer a digestive, given the various inconveniences of the evening.

Too bad we can't give more stars! Fantastic experience in full respect of the material done with great skill and passion! I will return as often as possible! Super friendly, helpful and welcoming staff. Enza Crucino, humble and professional, seeing her at work with her team in an open kitchen is like watching an orchestra playing! Excellent choice of wines, very honest price given the quality of the material and the execution. The best fried fish I've eaten in my life! Cleanliness, music, colors, furniture! A beautiful discovery!

Consigliato da amici nulla da dire sul cibo in quanto il risotto è uno dei più buoni mai mangiati, il fritto di pesce croccante la tagliata di tonno si scioglieva in bocca ma il tutto con una lentezza esasperante e senza grazie visto che mi è stato impedito di assaggiare le patate perché inscindibili dal resto del piatto e che il sorbetto in realtà era un gelato al limone anche se insistevano che si fa così . Se ricapitassi dalle parti di Policoro difficilmente ci tornerei perché l’ ambiente deve essere sereno.

Ambiente ricercato, e cibo ottimo. Abbiamo ordinato una frittura di pesce, una tagliata di manzo, una cacio e pepe, antipasto di crudi di mare, un filetto di carne e poi i dessert, come da foto. Tutto delizioso, servizio impeccabile. Una nota di merito va anche alla presentazione dei piatti ed alla qualità delle materie prime. Location facile da trovare, suggerisco di prenotare prima di andarci.
