Fully satisfied with our last visit, we decide to return to top off a carnivorous friend's meal. We booked a table, were seated, and started right away with four appetizers. Two Fassona steak tartare dishes, good but not exceptional. The portion was small, the plating minimal, and perhaps lacking in garnish, although there was a sort of cold mustard sauce that was quite good. My appetizer was missing, and in its place they offered tongue with green sauce, which was nothing like the recipe on the menu. To finish, a carpaccio that melted in the mouth, but was an end in itself, resting on a julienne of radicchio and shavings of a mature cheese that didn't quite fit. All paired with glasses of red wine, one of which was replaced by another off-menu. In any case, all good. Finally, the meat arrives. Ribs with pumpkin on the side. Good, but the latter was a bit small in quantity. Three steaks that looked the same, but to the eye, they were definitely NOT! Good, but not terribly tender! Besides, the 400g steaks cost €23, the second €40, and the last €52, bah... The waiter was very shy but attentive, offering to bring us more water, but it never arrived. Even during the appetizer service, there were some misunderstandings with the wait staff, who insisted on the wrong dish. The receipt wasn't exactly clear either. Overall, a fairly positive experience, but I don't know if we'll be back.

This restaurant, where I've been before, has a reputation that's spreading like wildfire; everyone knows about it and everyone praises the quality of its food. The interior is very beautiful, and the food is top-notch, as are the wines. It's recommended to park a little further away to enjoy the narrow streets that lead to this restaurant in beautiful Cividale.

The ambiance is charming and historic, but it could use a refresh. The curtains are worn, the chairs are a bit dated, and the bathroom door could be shielded from the rest of the dining room. Excellent food, friendly and knowledgeable staff.
