We've been coming to South Tyrol for years and discovered Sapperlot during a stay in Tscherms. We were thrilled from our very first visit. The service is friendly, very attentive, and they simply have an eye for detail. The food is perfect. The quality is top-notch and always beautifully presented. The lovely terrace invites you to relax and enjoy your meal. This year we're staying in Algund, but we still drove to Sapperlot for a meal. It's definitely worth it!!! We'll be back.

There are restaurants where, after your first visit, you know immediately: We'll be back. That's exactly how it was with Sapperlot. It's now firmly on our list of favorite restaurants in the Merano region. Even the terrace is a plus: relaxed seating, a friendly atmosphere, and quick, attentive service that isn't constantly hovering around the table. What impresses us every time is the food. Whether spare ribs or burgers, the quality has always been excellent on our visits. The burger didn't come with standard fries, but crispy potato slices: surprisingly good and exactly the kind of small detail that sticks in your mind. Someone here puts thought into everything. The pizza is also wonderful: good ingredients, exactly the kind of food that makes you automatically order another slice even though you're already full. Add to that a great wine list with a nice selection of regional wines by the glass. And a real bonus for dog owners: We felt very welcome with our dog. Water and plenty of space made the visit pleasantly relaxed. A place we'll gladly return to.

We visited the Sapperlot inn two days ago. The ambiance is really nice and the service is professional. However, I personally felt it lacked a warm touch – everything seemed a bit distant. The food (we had pizza) was good and perfectly acceptable. What bothered us, however, was the billing: When paying by debit card, we were only given the card receipt. The cursory question of whether we even needed a detailed receipt puts you at the table in such a daunting way that you initially don't want any discrepancies. In retrospect, however, this lack of transparency leaves a very uneasy feeling. A detailed bill should simply be standard practice in restaurants, provided without being requested.

Since October 2021, I've been a regular at this truly wonderful restaurant, "Sapperlot," whenever I vacation in South Tyrol. The ambiance, the warmth of the owner and his wife, the team, the truly attentive service, and of course, the outstanding food, make these visits a real treat every time. I'm always delighted, whether it's the pizza, the beef fillet, or any of the other delicious items on the menu or the daily specials. Quality comes at a price. That's why, for me, the price and value are perfectly balanced. You won't find pizza cheaper anywhere else. I'll always be happy to come back here because the whole experience is just right.

Good heavens! An expression of astonishment (shortlisted for Boomer Word of the Year 2024 and always with a slightly Hotzenplot-esque sound) is certainly appropriate here. This is how a traditional inn should be! The classics are given a modern twist, sometimes even with hints of casual fine dining. The staff attends to guests attentively and offers advice with friendly firmness. The ambiance is modern yet doesn't deny its roots.

A really beautiful restaurant and one of the best pizzas in all of Italy.
