El Cassettin In Trieste

Amazing atmosphere and incredibly delicious food) thank you very much)

Starting from the premise that this was our favorite seafood restaurant in Trieste, this evening we were unfortunately disappointed by the introduction of some changes: - The linguine with spider crab was decidedly devoid of spider crab meat. - Fried shrimp were usually accompanied by battered vegetables. This time, they were replaced with fried mashed potatoes, and in smaller quantities. - The melon liqueur, usually offered on the house after the meal, has disappeared, replaced by a liquor menu presented before dessert. We would like to clarify that our comments are not directed at the kitchen. We noticed no changes in the flavors, cooking methods, or timing. Our comments are addressed solely to the manager. A shame, really. We'll be back when the spider crabs return to the Cassettin rocks. Until then, we'll set sail for new food and wine destinations.

An excellent restaurant. Small, with just a few tables, but cozy. The menu is short, but all the dishes are top-notch. Delicious and unique. The emphasis is on seafood.

It was too playful for me; sometimes less is more (it also seemed somewhat artificial, it certainly doesn't deserve multiple stars - even if they do).

It was a real discovery, and I can only give it a truly deserved 5 stars! For a family get-together, accompanied by an "acquired Trieste resident," we found ourselves guests at this small but truly superb trattoria (and, after all, trattoria... is a truly reductive term, but it immediately makes you feel truly welcome and at home. You relax and enjoy). You almost don't notice it as you pass by. A small, rustic place, very welcoming both in its location and in its service. The cuisine....a lunch of appetizers and fish dishes was absolutely top-notch: preparation, genuine and local ingredients, presentation, and a modern yet perfectly balanced reinterpretation of the dishes. Because, let's face it, we're here first and foremost to enjoy. There's no point in listing the dishes we tried. Try them and that's it! Then we'll talk about them. A little extra? It's perfectly acceptable for this level of cuisine.

Intimate restaurant seating about twenty, impeccable service, excellent cuisine...very fresh fish. Price reasonable for the amount eaten...a very pleasant discovery. We'll be back.

A very refined restaurant, with a very intimate atmosphere given its size, but everything is impeccable. The dishes are perfectly presented, expertly prepared, and the prices are in line with the quality offered. The service is fast and courteous! Not to be missed.
