Visited this little gem on a recommendation from a work colleague who says it's his favourite place in Genoa. After my 1st visit I can understand why. Truly amazing tasting steak. Very happy and helpful staff who made us feel completely welcome. We didn't reserve but they accommodated us, but I do say that if you want a table, reserve. I can understand why as the food is delicious and tables do get reserved to the max. Sorry I didn't get a picture of my food as it was so tasty to stop and take a photo, but I did get a picture of my beer glass. I will be back for certain. Thank you Prie Rosse

THE FIRST DINNER OF THE YEAR...

Friday evening, while searching for a restaurant I'd been to years ago, but whose name I couldn't remember, led me to E Prie Rosse Ristorante, just steps from Piazza De Ferrari in Genoa.
The year started off great, culinary-wise, with quality food, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and a friendly and very professional staff that made our experience very positive.

I was here for lunch, a very nice and characteristic place, good ribollita and fantastic strudel, definitely worth returning to try other options. If I have to make a complaint, the service could be a little better from the staff who are not always attentive and the place was not crowded when we entered, I would say that this aspect needs improvement!

The staff was very kind and helpful, welcoming us with a smile and seating us right away even though we hadn't booked. The food was of high quality. My husband had the mandillo with pesto, and they were very good—perhaps a little too small, but excellent. Overall, the food was good. I would change the menu a bit. Being right in the historic center, I'd offer a few more traditional dishes besides the pesto. But that's just my opinion. Overall, I recommend it. They also gave us some almond cookies as a gift on the way out; they were really nice.

I recommend it to anyone who wants to try traditional dishes with a modern twist. The place is welcoming and the staff are attentive and friendly. A must-try.
