Dulcamara In Roma

The guy who served us was super friendly and knowledgeable! We were craving something tasty, fresh, and sophisticated. The cocktails were good, but not what we expected, given the impeccable presentation of the guy who served us.

The seafood at Ponte a Milvio was delicious. The contrast between the cooked fish and the freshness of the hummus was truly a great idea. Also, kudos to the bartender for creating the Campari Spritz. A good cocktail is like a diesel: it doesn't have great acceleration (it doesn't pick up immediately), but over time (after a while) you understand its quality.

A modern and charming place on Ponte Milvio. A bar, bistro, and restaurant. The service is youthful, very friendly, and pleasant. Good food on a menu that ranges from traditional Roman fare to a few oriental dishes. An overall pleasant experience.

The atmosphere was quiet; we ate outside, and the service was quick and friendly. Delicious food, including excellent noodles and carbonara!

I've been frequenting this restaurant for about five years, ever since I've lived in the area, and I'm sincerely sorry to see the decline in recent months. I hesitated a bit before writing this review, but after yet another confirmation, I thought it was right to state things as they are. I'll go in no particular order: service that falls apart when there's a certain amount of traffic and is generally less attentive than before (for example, on one occasion, the bread was brought after the appetizer), main dishes removed from the menu, some wines by the glass so mediocre that even considering the price, it's hard to understand why they're offered (wine used to be more carefully considered), portions reduced to a minimum (poor amatriciana), questionable quality of some dishes (the tagliata was rubbery), and the bill is rising. I don't know what's happened in recent months, whether it's a change in management/kitchen or something else. I have the feeling they're cutting corners at the expense of quality. Dulcamara used to be a given for me. I'm giving it 3 stars in the hope it becomes that way again.

Excellent food and location, but it's a shame the portions are so small, despite the prices being in line with the area. The panzanella and panelle are excellent, even if they're small portions.

What's happening to one of my favorite restaurants? The last few times have been a constant disappointment, food-wise. I sense something's changing, and I'm pleased. But why remove one of the iconic dishes: panko-crusted shrimp? Two weeks ago, I saw a new menu, and the shrimp were gone. I ordered a new entry: pasta and potatoes with provolone. It was very bland, and the potatoes were unpleasantly undercooked. The kind waiter asked me if I liked it and insisted on my opinion. In response, he told me that the potatoes in pasta and potatoes shouldn't be cooked through. Well, better to keep quiet... Anyway, I wish Dulcamara a relaunch (but please, put panko-crusted shrimp back on the menu!)

I returned after a few years and was a little skeptical because I hadn't been thrilled the last time. However, I have to say we ate really well: the sliced ​​bacon with sautéed broccoli was excellent, the savory muffins were delicious, as was the pumpkin flan. Excellent value, patient service despite our excesses (you have to admit it when you're a little annoying!): they easily changed our table because we were cold, and they tolerated our changes without a second thought...thank you! The atmosphere was nice and lively, and the outdoor area was lovely.

A fantastic Valentine's Day menu. I was told there was a renovation, and I can confirm it's true. Congratulations, keep up the excellent changes.
