2025, the heated gazebo was excellent for an aperitif with a friend who lives in Ferrara. We stopped for a quick drink and an ice cream with coffee, considering the sweltering heat. The interior was adequately cooled and features a large, comfortable veranda.

Excellent place right in the center, with a magnificent view. Kudos to the fast service. Come winter, they always cover the cup with the best possible cover.

We had an aperitif and tried some delicious desserts. If you're passing through, take a stroll near the castle and try the desserts—you won't regret it.

A wonderful experience at Bar Duca d’Este! I had a truly exceptional amberjack with a crispy crust—fresh, flaky, and bursting with flavor. The Aperol Spritz was perfect, balanced, and served with care. I also ordered some pastries to go, all delicious and meticulously crafted, as if freshly baked.
The staff were friendly and smiling, the service was quick, and the atmosphere was welcoming. You can tell they're passionate about what they do!
Highly recommended, I'll definitely be back! 🧡

A bar located in Piazza Castello in Ferrara.
It offers a huge variety of sweet and savory treats, all very inviting, ranging from classic croissants to traditional Ferrarese dishes like ofelia and pasticcio.
I had the croissant with custard, the croissant with Chantilly cream, and the pasta with ricotta and pine nuts. The pastry is very good, but I didn't like the croissant dough; it was a bit stringy. The ricotta pastry, on the other hand, is very soft, but I wasn't thrilled.
I'll be back to try other options.
The staff is very kind and friendly.

This pastry shop is located opposite the Estense Castle in the center of Ferrara. We stopped for a drink. The place is beautiful, modern, with both indoor and outdoor seating.
