The environment of Doppio Malto in Vigevano is undoubtedly pleasant: the place is welcoming, well-kept and the staff proved courteous and helpful throughout the evening. Unfortunately, however, the quality of the food failed to convince me, especially in relation to the prices. The burgers we ordered (one each) were smaller in size compared to the average of similar places, and the quality of the ingredients did not seem sufficient to justify such a high price. The accompanying chips were just sufficient in quantity and taste, certainly not abundant, and some sauces left me perplexed by a bitter aftertaste that didn't go well at all with the rest of the dish. The prices are, in my opinion, completely out of scale compared to the gastronomic experience offered. For example: 4.5 euros for a small portion of chips, 8/9/10 euros for appetizers consisting of two slices of ham or some fried dumplings, or other very simple appetizers. For two, with 2 burgers, a portion of chips, 2 waters and a dessert we spent over 50 euros. For the type of cuisine and the general quality, it seems to me to be a decidedly off-market figure. Positive note for the dessert, which was good and appreciated. The real strength of Doppio Malto, however, remains its brewery soul: excellent quality of the beers, good variety of choice and an offer designed for those who want to drink well in company. Even the events offered, such as the quiz night on Thursdays, are a nice touch and help make the atmosphere more lively and engaging. In conclusion: yes as a brewery, but no as a restaurant. The three stars are all earned thanks to the environment, the service and above all the quality of the beers. On the food front, however, there is ample room for improvement, both in terms of portions and value for money.

One of the things I appreciated most is the relaxed and convivial atmosphere, enriched by the presence of a play area with billiards and table football, a detail that makes the place even more fun. The menu offers a good variety of dishes, from burgers to grilled meat, and of course an excellent selection of craft beers. I tried a burger and found it tasty and well stuffed, with quality ingredients. The beers were a real discovery: there is something for all tastes, from the lightest to the fullest. The staff were friendly and helpful, and although the service was a little slow at times, the overall experience was very positive. A place that I recommend to those who love craft beer and are looking for an informal and welcoming environment!
