Average food, nothing special. Too expensive for what it is; it's clearly geared towards tourists.

As a Syracusan, I can say that Don Camillo is an absolute must-try and one of the city's finest restaurants, a truly excellent, almost Michelin-starred, gastronomic experience. The cuisine is a tale of the sea and the land. During our lunch (for my birthday), I tasted several iconic dishes, but a special mention goes to the pasta with sea urchins, a dish of great purity, perfectly flavorful, and captivating, capturing the essence of Sicily and the Mediterranean. Each course is thoughtful, precise, and never overdone, using excellent ingredients and impeccable cooking. The wine list is extraordinary, extensive, and top-notch, with great Italian and international labels, important vintages, and truly impeccable pairings. Here, wine is an integral part of the experience. Professional, elegant, and attentive service, a refined yet welcoming atmosphere in the heart of Ortigia. Don Camillo is an essential stop in Syracuse for those who love great cuisine and great wine.

We had lunch at this restaurant in the center of Ortigia. The experience was perfect, both in terms of service and food (excellent). The ambiance is very refined and meticulously curated, with the wine display being particularly beautiful. The service was impeccable, and the waiters were extremely kind and attentive to every detail, explaining the entire menu to us. As for the food, it was excellent and in keeping with the rest of the restaurant. Each dish was carefully crafted, prepared with quality ingredients, and each pairing was incredible and never boring. Both the meat and fish menus are excellent. I highly recommend trying this place!

The chef explained his philosophy to us and offered the recommendations we requested. A great culinary experience, with well-prepared dishes, both fish and meat. They also offer fully vegetarian options for those who prefer. Prices are reasonable for the dishes offered and the location. The menu is well-stocked.

I visited for our anniversary and was even treated to a surprise meal. I was impressed by the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. The vegan tasting portion was so generous that I had some leftover. If you choose the right menu, I highly recommend it.

One of the best meals we had in Sicily! The restaurant offered incredible options and multiple tasting menus, but also an à la carte selection for a more personalized experience. The service was exceptional, and it was such a nice touch to see the chef visiting tables to ensure every guest was enjoying their meal. The food was a perfect mix of authentic Sicilian flavors! Dishes were fresh, creative, elevated and absolutely delicious! Well had an incredible time here, would definitely return.

We each had the set menu, along with wine. Everything was great, sometimes a little hectic, since you had to get through about 7-8 courses in about two and a half hours. Still: An experience.

Top notch restaurant in Ortigia - worth the splurge!

Ensure you have plenty of room in your stomach! The food is sublime ... we enjoyed every mouthful. We decided on a la carte instead of degustation and asked the sommelier to recommend a red that suited both (my partner and my) chosen dishes. His recommendation was outstanding. We have recommended this restaurant privately to our chef and sommelier friends in parricular! 🙌
