There is no better place for a proper sandwich or something else, even if it is always crowded with people, you can always find a seat thanks to the very fast and competent staff.

La Movida dei Pescatori

01/02/2026: Excellent at describing all the dishes, welcoming and friendly, fast service, fresh ingredients, and typical Trieste dishes with local seafood! Not for the sophisticated...closed without notice on Sunday evenings!
05/01/2026: We love to go to this place, each time we are in Trieste, we make sure we book a table (and one needs to do this ahead of time!) and eat here. The tagliere di pesce (different options of cold and hot starters of fish and seafood) is a must to try. Definitely recommend this place.

Al Velocipede l'Osteria dell'Orbo

30/12/2025: Best Buffet in town, over crowded during Triestina matches. Polpette over the top.
16/12/2025: An old-fashioned osteria, with simple, authentic food and friendly, approachable staff. A true experience of a less touristy Trieste.
