I came to Trieste specifically to try the sandwiches at "Bar Tavola Calda Domio." Incredible. Ham, mustard, and horseradish + porcini mushrooms, mustard, and horseradish. Rating: 10/10.

The kiosk, the real "bar" where you can sample Trieste street food. I tasted the best porcini sandwich I've ever eaten in 59 years. Stuffed meatballs: when have I ever seen them before? The real meatball, with or without garlic. The prices are beyond excellent.

Buffet L'approdo

06/12/2025: I went to Buffet L'Approdo for lunch. It was a fantastic experience: delicious and varied food, a very pleasant (and extremely friendly) atmosphere, and fair prices (I spent €17 for soup, a cordon bleau, and a dessert, which also included water, service charge, and bread). One of the ladies in particular was incredibly kind to my girlfriend and I: she explained the entire menu to us and gave us some excellent recommendations. Highly recommended (maybe make a reservation, as it's often very crowded).
02/12/2025: Cozy restaurant Excellent Friulano by the glass from Rosic (Cormons) The eggplant casserole as well as the rolls with salami, etc. taste very good.
