It reopened under a different name, still in the area. Same quality, but higher prices and a smaller variety of products. The desserts are still very fresh.

We just visited this fantastic pastry shop. They offer a huge selection of sweet and savory treats, all homemade.
The owners and employees are incredibly kind.
The prices are very fair (we paid only €6.80 for three enormous brioches and two cappuccinos) and the quality is excellent.
You guys are fabulous 🥰

An extraordinary discovery!
While waiting for the tour to begin, we had breakfast with delicious pastries and great coffee.
The women serve you with a smile and a willingness that makes you feel welcomed. They are also incredibly efficient workers.
When a job well done is combined with a delicious product, it must be admired and enjoyed. I will return to Rome and I will return to Dolce Maniera.

Delicious and cheap. Simply put, if you're looking for a sweet and savory breakfast and want a cup of coffee, I highly recommend it.

I was looking for the historic croissant shop on Via Barletta, the one with the steps from when I was at university in Rome.
I found online that it had moved to Via Giulio Cesare, and I went to try it.
Sure, the atmosphere is completely different and the place is more modern, but I found the same flavors at low prices.
I liked it.

Coffee for €10!
Top toilet: 5 for urination, 4 for washability (alas, only electronic drying), 5 for pipping.

Excellent pastries, a wide selection, and fair prices! Good coffee and cappuccino for just €1 and €1.40.
I recommend it if you want breakfast in the Prati neighborhood.

We found Dolce Maniera almost by accident, looking for a place to have breakfast, since our hotel didn't offer it. It was an incredible discovery: a veritable paradise of sweet and savory treats, just steps from the Vatican.
The counter is incredibly well stocked: croissants of every kind (plain, cream, chocolate, pistachio, etc.), maritozzi, pastries, pizzas, rustici, and cakes. The croissants were fragrant, light, and generously filled; it was truly difficult to stop at the first one! We also tried some savory treats, and the quality was the same: well-made dough, fresh, and tasty.
Another plus is the incredibly fair prices: in a central area of Rome, finding such good products at such reasonable prices is almost impossible. This is also why it's so beloved by those who live or pass through the area.
The staff is friendly and quick, despite the busy shop, and the atmosphere is simple yet welcoming, typical of "real" pastry shops where substance matters more than appearance.
In short: a delightful surprise, which quickly became a regular stop on our mornings in Rome. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic, hearty, and quality breakfast without spending too much.
