In the charming village of Cirigliano, nestled among the hills of Matera, the restaurant-pizzeria Il Mulino turned out to be a real discovery, a place where the Lucanian culinary tradition is expressed with authenticity and passion.
From the first moment, you are welcomed by a warm and familiar atmosphere, typical of the trattorias of the past, where the smile and courtesy of the owners make you feel immediately at home. The environment, well-kept and welcoming, is the perfect prelude to a gastronomic experience that celebrates the genuine flavors of the territory.
We had the pleasure of tasting different courses, and each of them told a story of very fresh ingredients and recipes handed down with love. The appetizers, a triumph of local products, from cheeses to cured meats, tantalized the palate in a sublime way. The first courses, with homemade pasta, are a tribute to grandma's cooking, rich in flavor and prepared with skill.
The pizza also deserves a special mention: a light and digestible dough, cooked to perfection and seasoned with top quality ingredients. The care and attention dedicated to each individual preparation is evident.
The service is attentive and thoughtful, never intrusive, with the staff always ready to recommend and share an anecdote about the dishes and their origins.
