02/01/2024: Caffè Turreno is located in the historic centre of Perugia, a few dozen metres from the cathedral. This café-restaurant was part of the historic Turreno cinema-theatre, dating back to 1871, which was closed in 2010, but is due to reopen in 2025 thanks to an innovative project that will make it a multipurpose cultural centre. In the café-restaurant, recently reopened under new management, we had a quick lunch on the first day of 2024. We had "pinsa Cantabrico", a focaccia with burrata, courgette flowers, Cantabrian anchovies, a "Paleta iberica di Patanegra 80g e torta al testo" (Torta al Testo is an ancient Umbrian focaccia mixed and cooked on a cast iron plate, then filled with the best of the local butcher’s pork products), a dish of pasta with anchovies and a "Satellite" an out-of-menu dessert (wheels of meringue layered with whipped cream and chocolate), a bottle of water and a glass of Beaujolais Nouveau for a total bill of €59.20. All tasted very good and the service was excellent.

06/12/2023: On a cold day in early December I wanted to have an indoor aperitif, while walking I decided to enter this bar. The bar is nice but extremely messy (fish aquarium with the favorite team's scarf, poorly maintained and unclean bathroom with threatening signs about the aim) We ordered a bottle of wine for two for the aperitif, I asked what we had to eat so as not to get drunk, the annoyed owner said that the chips were arriving or we could order a pinsa (some snobs have an aperitif before dinner and don't they want a dish, but only an accompaniment) Very serious: I was asked very explicitly to pay in cash: I am also a freelancer and in taxes alone I pay more than the annual net salary of a worker: this request was very offensive.
