10/01/2025: Ciolà is a restaurant that offers a truly enchanting dining experience. From the moment I arrived, all four of us were captivated by the charming ambiance, where rustic wooden beams meet elegant decor, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that beckons you to unwind and savor the moment.
Their passion for the food was evident, and they made us feel right at home.
As for the food, it was a revelation. We started with the tartare beefsteak, each bite was a comforting embrace of flavors!
For the main course, we choose to try fiorentina and lamb steak. The presentation was as beautiful as it was appetizing.
To finish off our meal, we couldn’t resist trying the homemade icecream, sorbeto and lawa cake served warm with a scoop of vanilla gelato. It was the perfect sweet note to conclude an already unforgettable dining experience.
I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking an authentic taste of the region. I can’t wait to return!
29/12/2024: Our first attempt to have dinner at this restaurant was without a reservation, and it ended already at the entrance :) We made a reservation for the next day, and got a sweet little table right next to the bar.
The staff is super friendly.
I have to admit that I am not a big fan of this way of preparing meat, and you will agree that steaks have a specific preparation method and taste that may not be for everyone. Since I like to try different flavors, I have tried them many times in different parts of the world. We decided to give the local chef a chance here too...
We had bruschetta with mushrooms for an appetizer, the restaurant even treated us to a free smoked potato soup. We each had a glass of excellent local Pinot Noir.
We took two different dishes from a relatively small selection of roast meats. "Flat Iron" steak was medium rare, and I must say relatively interesting texture and bitterness in taste. My wife and our daughter shared a steak (I forget the name) which was well done and I must admit quite dry. That border between well-done and medium-roasted meat, and therefore the texture, bitterness, juiciness and hardness of the meat, is something you should try and find the taste that suits you. We obviously haven't found the right one yet.
Prices are clearly stated in the menu and are as they are. However, what you get for that money is not a real compensation. This has nothing to do with a specific restaurant, simply, steaks and dry aged meat are now in fashion, and "hold" the price.
We didn't try the desserts; simply, it was already 8 in the evening, and we didn't want to spoil the excellent taste of the wine.
