I'm sorry for some of the negative reviews. The place probably had staffing issues. My wife and I had a great time. Good food. Fast service. Rustic, traditional atmosphere. We had tagliatelle with white sausage ragù, tagliolini with truffle, and roasted potatoes. Everything was good, not a top-notch because it felt like it was reheated, but if you want to eat right away, you have to accept the compromise.

This restaurant is located in the center of Bagni di Lucca, in front of the theater. It's a lovely place, and the owner is friendly and attentive to the customer's every need. The food is good.

Interesting place. It seems frozen in time. The food was definitely good, even if it didn't wow me; for example, I would have avoided the little bit of cream in the mushroom starter. The price was fair.

Authentic Italian, great choice, but owner happy to cater for items not on the menu. The fillet steak with truffle was amazing.

Dined here last night (14/9/25) after being recommended by family. Lovely food, nice typical Italian decor throughout and nice to see Illario himself helping out on the front line. There was a live music event on adjacent which gave a good atmosphere although the table of older women in their 50s next to us were loud (this wasn't the restaurants fault though.)

While passing through the tranquil Bagni di Lucca, we stopped by Ilario's place. We immediately felt very comfortable. Ilario and his team know how to warmly welcome their guests. We really enjoyed the rustic ambiance and the authentic, delicious food lovingly prepared by "Mama" Cassei. Unbeatable value for money: less than €60 per person for a starter, main course + side dishes, dessert, wine, water, espresso, and Sambucca. We were a little lucky with our table reservation, as it filled up later, quite rightly so. The menus were available in several languages. Speaking of languages, Ilario also speaks very good German, as he says he's a "genius," chuckle. Children are also very welcome at these two places. Parking was also available nearby, at least on a weekday. And for photography enthusiasts, be sure to check out the old pedestrian bridge over the Lima River opposite, offering a magnificent view of the river and surrounding area. So we definitely recommend it!! 🙂👍 P.S.: If you could make your menus a little prettier, that would be fantastic. 😄

An absolute dream and a delight. The ambiance is uniquely beautiful. The owner and staff are very friendly and accommodating. Children are welcome. The food is truly amazing. And the prices are very fair. And as a little bonus, the owner also speaks German 😉
