A truly hidden gem! Dinner here is particularly amazing. Menaggio is less touristy but still very accessible, and I'm so glad choosing here for a stay. We got: - Seared caramelized foie gras with peaches (Yummm!) - Cuttlefish ink tagliolini (BEST squid inck pasta I have ever had in my life) - Deconstructed Tiramisu (creative and delicious)

The restaurant got a new chef and a new upgraded meny. Great food and service. Eat there three times on my last trip to Menaggio and the food was great, every time.

A fantastic experience!! Spectacular location, directly overlooking the lake, impeccable service. Manager Marianna goes out of her way to pamper every customer. High-quality dishes showcasing the finest ingredients. The absolute best! 5 stars aren't enough.

We thought it might be a tourist trap cost wise due to the lakefront views but it really wasn’t significantly different than anywhere else. Barbara did a great job making drinks. The food was very tasty and decent portion sizes on the main courses filled us up after a long day of travel.

The chef here offers a diverse menu – from italian classics with an original twist to refined seasonal dishes. The food comes in a classy presentation (deer/roe as secondi), sometimes with surprising yet tasteful combinations (uovo/taleggio 68⁰ as antipasto), most desserts are to die for (fig/ricotta tarte). Overall we were again truly delighted during our last visit in sept. '25. Quality (freshness of ingredients, preparation, originality) has reached new highs it seems. Our congratulations to the chef afterwards were sincere! (I also recommend : tartar of fassone meat, gnocchetti, ravioli, tiramisù). The service here is rapid, but not too, and always effective and friendly. View across the lake is sumptuous.

The previous reviews are completely incomprehensible. If anyone is surprised by the coperto in such a good restaurant, it's incomprehensible. There's only one problem with this place: it's hard to tell which dish is better.

Good food, fresh produce, carefully prepared. Wine pairing, excellent advice. Jazz atmosphere. The only downside is that the service is a little too rushed. The manager transmits the stress to his team and It's a shame, this is felt by the customer. Please calm down, sir.

Delicious food, attentive and extremely friendly service. Excellent quality food, beautifully presented. A fantastic view of Lake Como. Highly recommended; we'll be back.

Il Gatto Nero

31/12/2025: What an unbelievably fantastic experience at Il Gatto Nero. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality, décor, and service were all absolutely on point. The staff, Andrea, Beatrice, Simone, and everyone we interacted with, made the evening truly special. We will definitely be back. We had some of the most amazing food we’ve enjoyed during our time in Italy, which is really saying something, because the food here is exceptional everywhere. The savory crème brûlée and the artichokes were standouts among the antipasti, and the spaghetti with zucchini cream was completely out of this world. To top it all off, my wife accidentally left her scarf behind. When we called, Beatrice, the manager and possibly the owner, personally made plans to return it to us the next day in Como Centro. That kind of care and thoughtfulness goes far beyond what anyone would expect. It was a genuinely touching gesture in a world where you rarely see that level of kindness anymore. A truly wonderful experience from start to finish.
