L'oster Bif & Beef

02/05/2026: The meat was excellent. The service was excellent, especially for their kind (much appreciated) response to a dish that had problems.
02/05/2026: Spurred by owner Raffaele's exaggerated social media postings, on May 1, 2026, we visited L'Oster in Valtrighe, a hamlet in the municipality of Mapello. This is undoubtedly a place where they know how to handle their meat, and where you have to spend to try the 30-day-old dry-aged cuts. We opted for the Friday night special and were very satisfied. However, there are some points that could be improved for greater clarity: 1) The meat is priced per 100g, but it's not specified that there's a minimum order size (1kg for today's cuts, 500g for boneless ones). We only discovered this when ordering, which is why we opted for the special; 2) When the dessert menu is presented (listed verbally), the prices are not stated, and we discovered the same at the checkout (€8 each). I also understand that we had already ordered a glass of wine before ordering the special, but since we sent back the two glasses that were brought to the table (and therefore untouched), I personally wouldn't have charged for the glass we'd previously ordered. The meat and cured meats were high-quality, as was the gnocco fritto (not at all greasy). The only truly negative note was the peach mousse: flavorless and with a crisp, acidic aftertaste. The peach was only slightly noticeable, and the amaretto was clearly dominant. We'll perhaps return to try the other options available from the à la carte menu.
