We decided to come and eat at Dardo Rosso after the advice of a friend who had spoken very highly of it to me. I must say that it even exceeded my expectations: the meat (we took a fillet with mustard and a half kg rib-eye) is truly excellent and the lard taken as an appetizer melted in the mouth. Regarding the price paid, I think it is fair for the quality offered (far superior quality to many restaurants in the centre). The service is excellent, the owner is friendly and kind: she made us feel at ease even when our two-month-old daughter started screaming in the middle of dinner. We will definitely be back.

22/02/2024: Con amici in occasione di uno spettacolo nel vicino teatro Bobbio, siamo tornati dopo qualche anno in questo locale tipico triestino; l’ho trovato rimodernato rispetto alla mia prima volta, forse con un po’ più di spazio disponibile. Il menù è quello della trattoria, ed il servizio da parte del padrone di casa cortese ma senza tanti fronzoli. Abbiamo mangiato gnocchi al ragù (buon sapore ma gnocchi un po’ troppo cotti per i miei gusti), fritto misto di pesce (calamari troppo secchi, ai limiti dell’immangiabile, buoni viceversa i gamberoni). Viste le espressioni del volto, anche i piatti dei nostri amici non mi sono parsi così gradevoli. Abbiamo bevuto un vino bianco Malvasia della casa, non disprezzabile. Al contrario della mia prima volta, esperienza non all’altezza delle attese.

24/01/2024: Birthday lunch: the best in these 31 years! Exquisite dishes, traditional and authentic flavours, from the appetizer of local cheeses to the dessert (an amazing panna cotta with orange and persimmon jam!), all delicious. The service also deserves 5 stars for courtesy, availability and above all friendliness! Keep it up! See you soon (:
