daPrette In Padova

A friend of mine and I came in for breakfast and sat at the counter, then after a while asked what order we wanted to place (and sit at a table). The guy only later asked us if we wanted to sit down (he could have done so right away), then told us they'd take our orders at the table. No one ever came to the table, so we got up again to order. The pain au chocolate literally had a thin stripe of chocolate on it, but that said, at least the dough was good.

Top products, slightly less service, you don't have time to choose by looking at the window because they immediately take you to a table

A wide selection of croissants and pastries with gourmet fillings, and delicious coffees. Overall, I find the quality of service has declined, while the prices have skyrocketed (two medium-sized decorated gingerbread cookies cost almost €8). It remains a go-to place for breakfast in the center of Padua.

Positive experience: the closed and open panzerotti were both good, but what we particularly liked were the Supreme Roll puff pastry (with a unique flavor) and the cocoa and caramel brownie. The coffee was also good. The prices are reasonable, and the place is small but charming.
