Dal Castiglionese In Castiglione del lago

Place located in Castiglione del Lago, not very large so I recommend booking in advance, but even though they were full they managed to find us a place even without reservations. We took a platter of cold cuts which was good, a fondue with croutons which was very good and the torte al testo with finocchiona and cheese was also very good. The stew is also good, service carried out correctly and prices right

Excellent food with generous portions, after seeing the portions of the starters I had to ask to cancel one of the first courses ordered because we would not have been able to eat it, in fact with 2 starters and 1 first course which we divided we were full and satisfied... friendly staff and prices correct.

Very nice place, very kind owners. The food, the drinks, the hospitality, the ambience. Nothing is missing here.

I ordered gnocchi with white ragù and they were good in flavor and texture. An added touch is the freshly ground pepper. The second course was the wild boar: well creamed and flavored with bay leaves and black olives. Too bad it wasn't accompanied by cake, being Umbrian I would have expected it! Generous portions and it's a shame about a small mix-up which, of course, can happen, but they knew how to manage it by removing the price of the dish from the bill.

The food was great and affordable, great price quality. The boar was amazing as was their pici carbonara. The service could improve a bit though: even if we were the only customers, we were told we "can get the babychair if we wanted it", and the waiter asked us if we wanted dessert when we were still waiting for a dish - not sure if the order was passed to the kitchen before, but he did know we ordered it. Atmosphere is typical of a family Trattoria, nothing fancy but as expected, somewhat cosy. The only place so far with a baby changing table, though the toilet has no lock.

Trattoria lungo il corso principale di Castiglione, molto semplice e dall’ambiente famigliare. Ho cenato con mia moglie e figlia, preso dei crostini, una lasagna per la bimba e una fonduta di formaggio per me, poi delle polpette al sugo da condividere. Davvero ottima la fonduta, ottimi anche i crostini, la lasagna a mia figlia è piaciuta molto, secondo me se un po’ asciutta, ma ok. Invece la cosa che non ci ha entusiasmato sono state le polpette, che dentro erano fredde. Bene il servizio, male il gagliardetto dell’inter, certe cose non andrebbero esposte ;) Ok il servizio ed il prezzo.

Ho assaporato dei buoni Pici, sia alla carbonara, che al ragù di chianina. preparano anche specialità di salumi norcini. Servizio perfetto
