31/07/2025: A small place in the heart of Lucca, but with tables available in the square. It offers a selection of delicious, freshly made sandwiches. Good value. Recommended for a quick lunch. The beers are pretty good.

30/07/2025: Whenever I go to Tuscany, there's always that moment when I crave a good sandwich with typical regional cured meats. In Lucca, I was lucky enough to stumble upon La Tana del Boia, a place that truly excels in its cured meats and sandwiches. We ordered two sandwiches with porchetta and pecorino cheese, and honestly, I don't think I've ever had such a good sandwich in Italy. Even today, my friend and I rave about it. The bread was soft, slightly warm, and generously filled with truly exceptional porchetta, the best I've ever tasted. For just €8, I was incredibly satisfied. The red wine, selected from local wineries in the surrounding hills, was also excellent, and perfectly complemented the meal. The service was friendly and very fast. I highly recommend this place: for me, it's one of the most surprising places in Lucca.
