A small osteria in Monteverde! What can I say? Everything was excellent, from the food to the service!

Excellent and authentic Roman cuisine, with hints of Amatriciana and the Marche region (ciauscolo crostini) and homemade pasta, modest prices below the Roman average, normal portions (not too abundant for those who eat a lot like myself) nevertheless a VERY satisfying experience.

Exceptionally good!!! We loved every minute of spending time in this place. We came this evening and are still feeling very fulfilled by this experience. The food really is exceptionally refined and delicate, from the antipasti, over the primo and secondo, to the dessert. The atmosphere is super cozy and warm, and very intimate. We really enjoyed the overall concept of this Hosteria, including the Signora that was presenting the meals of the day in a little speech right at 19:45 :) For foreigners I would recommend to come punctually at 19:45 or at 21:30, because these are the two slots in which the dishes are presented, prepared and served. If you don't speak Italian, better take a Picture of the menu at the door, because there is no written menu inside, only the given speech :D This Hosteria really is a place to remember, wherever you are in Rome, this place is worth a visit!

Roman trattoria serving hearty and tasty traditional dishes. Reasonably priced. The restaurant is small but cozy, with two service shifts. The service is exceptional, with the owner acting more like a hostess. Reservations are essential.

At the center of all this is a special person: Carla. She welcomes you at the door of the inn as if she's always known you, and within minutes, you feel at ease, the formalities disappear. You're at home. Once everyone is seated at their assigned table, she demands attention and begins listing the dishes of the day: appetizers, first courses, second courses. Then she sits down at each table to ask what you've chosen, to better understand you and your tastes, and to fully customize the dish you're asking her to prepare for you. All with a "gruff" frankness that makes you look at her and listen as if she were a mother, an aunt, a sister who's simply trying her best to make you feel satisfied. The dishes, proudly Roman cuisine, are delicious, authentic, and in just the right quantities. In a small space with just a few tables, you barely notice the background noise, and you realize you're also talking at a moderate volume to the person sitting at your table, part of that buzz that doesn't seem to extend beyond the table where it's coming from. Truly, like a feeling of serene relaxation that accompanies the pleasure of dining. I can only tell you it's a shame not to go, both to meet Carla and to enjoy her cuisine. Enjoy your dinner!
