La minestra coll'arzilla gradevolissima. Involtino alla romana da manuale. Fiore fritto gonfio di mozzarella. Puntarelle un po' delicate. Cibo ottimo, porzioni medie, vino buono, prezzi onesti.

La taverna dei 40

01/04/2025: First restaurant chosen for lunch on our mini Roman vacation. A stone's throw from the Colosseum, a rustic but minimalist restaurant, in my opinion very beautiful and well-designed. There is also a small outdoor area with tables outside with climbing plants, very characteristic and perfect for a sunny day. The Cacio e Pepe was excellent and the ricotta and sour cherry tart was a wonderful discovery. I think both the pasta and the cake were homemade and if so they deserve all my compliments! The waiters were a bit brusque but the lady in the dining room (perhaps the owner) was very attentive and kind. I will definitely go back and I recommend it! Generous portions and fair bill.
