We ate very well. The moment when silence is required to hear the menu spoken was lovely. The place is very traditional, the food excellent, and the service seemingly spartan but in our case impeccable. Highly recommended!

An excellent, family-run, traditional Roman trattoria in the quaint Monteverde neighborhood. This quaint restaurant is small, so entry is managed in shifts, especially on busy days. Advance reservations are highly recommended.

We were delighted to return to this little trattoria for dinner after years. The food is always delicious and not at all touristy. It's good, authentic food with old-fashioned flavors. The atmosphere is clean and the staff are extremely friendly. Two talented and knowledgeable young people. The lady, who is always unique, makes you feel right at home and lists the dishes only once, drawing the diners' attention. There's no paper menu (although you can read it at the entrance, just to get an idea before entering). A beautiful, authentic Roman experience. Highly recommended!

If you are about to go a bit out of crowded historical centre, to feel a real italian atmosphere, this little place can offer you that. Bus 44 can take you there from Trastevere in just 15 minutes. We didn't have reservation, but all the others (all Italians) had, still we were lucky to get the table. Reservations are made by time slots - when one tour finishes, the whole place gets empty, cleaned, and then the next tour enters. You can get the menu (we got one in english), but the real exclusivity of this place is a "live" menu - the main lady of the place - she has an interesting performace reciting the menu of the day in the centre of the hostaria, first antipasti, then primi and secondi. Anyway, atmosphere perfect, food as well. We enjoyed and will be back for sure :-)

A typical Roman restaurant in the new Monteverde area, a sublime culinary experience. The service is fast, the portions are generous, and everything is truly excellent, but the artichoke alla giuda is heartwarming, the best I've ever had anywhere.

Why should I tell you?! It's a true, historic Roman osteria, with dishes faithful to tradition and reasonable prices. Make sure to book, though, because it's always busy. They have two dinner sittings: 7:45 PM and 9:45 PM, and you leave when everyone has arrived (so on time!)
