A true Roman trattoria, a small space with about 15 seats, and a menu based entirely on Roman cuisine. I had lunch without a reservation, perhaps because it was a weekday.

I had lunch at Hosteria da Settimio, on Via di Val Tellina in the Monteverde neighborhood. This historic, family-run restaurant seats only about 35, but the ingredients are excellent. The menu is typically Roman, but truly Roman! Tripe, amatriciana, pajata, chicory, and lamb—all delicious. The service is friendly and attentive. Recommended for anyone who wants to try authentic Roman cuisine. The only drawback is that parking isn't exactly easy to find... but once you're seated at your table, you forget about it.

As soon as we return to Milan, we're carrying Rome in our hearts, thanks in part to Settimio, an osteria unlike any other. Settimio is small, with just a few tables, and we were greeted with the utmost kindness by the two young men (sorry, I don't know their names), who were incredibly efficient and helpful. The food is amazing, top-notch quality, and generous portions. We arrived from the city center on bus 44, which drops us off just 5 meters from the restaurant. It was a long ride, but it was totally worth it. We ate the impossible without the slightest problem, and we no longer feel 20 years old. Kudos to the lady (again, I don't know her name) who put her heart and soul into this osteria—or rather, the heart of Rome! I almost forgot...the prices are truly those of someone who puts passion into it and doesn't care about profit. Absolute congratulations from Milan!

Best restaurant and cuisine in Monteverde

You eat well in this place. If it's good. But don't ask Sora Carla to repeat the menu. Otherwise, it'll be painful. We ate everything from appetizer to dessert and left happy. And the digestion was perfect. You can see that it's all genuine food. When Sora Carla says everything is good, she's right!!!
