THE LEGEND OF "EL GATT"
A long fishing tradition, a cat and an old nickname. The history of this restaurant, located right in front of the sea along the Adriatic coast, has its roots in the most authentic Marotta, that of a family of fishermen who decided to open the doors of their home, and above all of their kitchen, to friends and relatives as a place of waiting and refreshment: this is why conviviality is one of the values that distinguish us.
There is a story of a faithful cat who waited for his owner on the beach every evening to enjoy the flavors of the sea. After the death of the previous owner, the restaurant was taken over by two young sisters who continued the tradition and understood and carried forward its most characteristic features by offering genuine cuisine, foods and drinks from the rich Marche region and the generous Adriatic sea.
When entering "El Gatt" don't expect large anonymous rooms and sterile tables but rather an old Trattoria del Pesce setting with vats, anchors, the blue of the sea and the brown of the wood, an intimate atmosphere in which to enjoy your food in company. The value of waiting is fueled by the knowledge that each food is freshly prepared and cooked for you. The menu that awaits you contains typical dishes of our Marche tradition expertly combined with a touch of originality. 12/11/2024: Remarkable and above all fresh roast fish! But... alas, the risotto! ... It's a separate matter: if it's done this way you have to pay the club to those who have the courage to take it! What you do has absolutely nothing to do with the traditional risottos of these places; and if you do it to differentiate yourself you are making a huge mistake! A truly pitiful consistency and amalgamation of the mixture! Hints of indefinable aromas and, trying not to say worse, not appetizing. I hope you will change, I really hope so! Thinking about that risotto gives me shivers! Never again on this Riviera, go to fish cooking school to see how a risotto is made! Ecchecachio!!
