An impromptu lunch for my birthday since I happened to be passing through the area.
The place is very welcoming and in the old-fashioned Bolognese trattoria style, just the way I like it. A selection of high-quality wines and spirits are beautifully displayed at the entrance.
As for lunch, I ordered a slow-cooked egg with cream cheese, served in a smoked bowl. The smoke really covered the flavor of the dish, which, unfortunately, also had truffle.
Then came the gramigna and sausage, which were very good.
The service was a bit of a weak point. Perhaps it was a particularly busy day, and I saw the girls and the owner struggling a bit. For the same reason, I had the feeling he was a bit gruff, but that didn't detract from my experience, which I consider to be more than positive.
Prices are moderately high compared to other trattorias.

If the Fellowship of the Ring had passed through Bologna, it would have stopped here.
At Trattoria da Sandro al Navile, I ate like a hobbit after a long march: hearty, filling, and damn good.
The tortelli al ragù are something crafted on the slopes of Mount Doom: rich, filling, uncompromising.
The meat dish was as tender as Samwise's conscience, and accompanied by side dishes that weren't extras, but co-stars.
It's not a cheap inn, but what you get on your plate more than justifies the trip.
A special mention goes to the waitresses: friendly, kind, and attentive, more elven than orc, thankfully.
In short: not cheap, but epic.
You don't eat here: you complete a quest. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We visited this restaurant yesterday during a business trip to Bologna.
We were immediately struck by the warm and professional welcome from the staff, who immediately made us feel at ease. The wine was excellent, the service excellent, and the customer service was top-notch. I highly recommend the "Foglia Morta" dish, which was truly special and surprising. A special mention also goes to the dessert we were given: a wonderful discovery: cream gelato churned on the spot with balsamic vinegar, an original and delicious combination. A very pleasant experience, highly recommended.

The place is a bit remote, especially in winter, but it's worth a visit. A wide variety of dishes and excellent ingredients. Attentive service, an extensive wine list, and reasonable prices.

I used to go there a lot during my time in Bologna in the '80s; it was excellent in every way. I'm back now, and it's just as good as it was then. Excellent food, friendly and courteous staff, always a lovely atmosphere, and reasonable prices. I'll be back very soon. Thank you, you're fantastic.

A Tuesday for a business lunch, a classic Bolognese trattoria.
It's quite difficult to get there...
The experience wasn't the best, with a limited selection of dishes.
The waitresses are completely incompetent with customers:
I order a first course (green gramigna with sausage), and I kindly ask if it's possible to have cheese. She replies, "Our sauces are very consistent and we make them very flavorful. Taste it first, and then ask me if you want cheese."
I try it and politely ask for it. The waitress comes over with a grater and a piece of Grana/Parmigiano and starts grating the cheese by hand onto my plate.
