A sure thing. A restaurant that's a sure thing, ranging from traditional (Bolognese - Ferrara) to seafood. Keeping things in order... Excellent at the crescentine (pinzini), baked as well as the usual fried dishes. STARTERS: TOP CRESCENTINE Zunna pie: No, too watery, probably from the freezer MAINS: Lasagna: Good. Tortellini: TOP. The pumpkin tortelloni were excellent (not too sugary), cooked perfectly and very generous. Ricotta tortelloni: Good, but they don't quite measure up to the tortellini and the pumpkin. Fish risotto: NO, too watery and bland, perhaps a bit more seasoning... Onion soup: Good, good, I would have used more Emmental and less onion, but it was good. Mushroom crepes: Not bad, but the quantity was small. Gnocchi with fondue and pancetta: Very, very good. MAIN COURSES: Salama Buona Donkey with polenta NO, although cooked well, bland and with little sauce. Beef fillet... Good. The fillet is also good. Eel... Good, a good 8. Grilled fish... We'd give it a 9. Tagliata al vinegar al balsamico: good, but needs more convincing. More charred. Braised beef off the menu, excellent. SIDE DISHES: Excellent French fries Fried zucchini, very good with the addition of salt. DESSERTS: Tiramisu is actually a good mascarpone. Coffee cake: good for coffee lovers, but for me, since I drink macchiato with sugar, it's too bitter. Mascarpone... Good. Parfait... Good The panna cotta is good and plentiful. The Tenerina is rather firm, not bad, please add more cream. Good service. Simple atmosphere, very clean bathrooms. Parking is close by. And reasonable prices! I think they currently have a fixed-price crescentine evening on Thursdays, all included. P.S.: I imagine it's expensive, but I recommend changing chairs... If you have a bad back all day, they're not the best. 😬 P.S.2: Smart trend, one regular crescentine and one full one. For two people.

Good food, excellent service and the atmosphere is very welcoming

Very good first courses, tagliatelle, tortellini and crescentine, excellent and plentiful, good second courses, average parking, convenient and spacious, the only flaw is the noisy environment, the price with a first course, second course, dessert and wine in a carafe, coffee, doesn't go below forty euros, to find a place you have to call a week in advance.

Only the appetizer was good, the pinzini and the cured meat were good, the frog risotto was absolutely tasteless, we won't be returning.

Saturday, May 2, 2026 About a year later, I tried this place again, changing the menu. The appetizer was fried and grilled gnocchi with cured meats, sauces, and cheeses. The fried gnocchi were very good, the grilled a little less so. The Salamina da sugo (sauce-based salami) with mashed potatoes was good, and the tortellini alla panna (cream tortellini) was a 7. I also wanted to try a fish-based first course, and how could I not order the spaghetti allo scoglio (spaghetti with seafood), but this time, I must honestly say, I was deeply disappointed. The dish seemed like a portion for two, but the smell of ammonia was unbearable for me, in fact, even though I would have left them all there. I ate about half of it, and I can't deny that I was disappointed with this dish. In conclusion, I'd definitely go back for the fried gnocchi. As for the rest of the menu, which is vast, I think it's somewhere between a 6 and an 8. I'll leave my first review below. This is my first time here. We had a seafood meal, and they also offered us a couple of good fried gnocchi. The service was good and fast, which means they have a well-equipped kitchen that keeps things moving even when the place is busy. The menu has something for everyone, with dishes that aren't easy to find, like frogs, donkey, salami, and so on. I'll be back to try other dishes. The fish isn't bad; an 8 or less would be the right rating. I don't think I saw any outdoor dining area. Parking was no problem, and since it's on the ground floor, there's no problem for the disabled. The bathrooms are clean.

Customer for many years...always a real guarantee, excellent staff, renovated location very welcoming always with its beautiful HOME trattoria style....their fried and grilled pinzini EXCELLENT...truly excellent quality meat...simple and good desserts.

Sunday lunch Everything was good An experience to definitely repeat

While staying in Ferrara, I wanted to try something typical of Ferrara, and ended up at Trattoria da Pippi, recommended directly by Pippi. 👉 Excellent choice. Warm, welcoming atmosphere, the kind that makes you feel right at home. The cuisine here is truly "homestyle," and you can taste it: in the flavors, the simplicity, and the confidence you feel when choosing the dishes. I started with: • gnocco fritto and gnocco grigliato → both excellent, like clouds • superlative fried food, light, not at all heavy (a very rare thing) Then: • cappellacci di zucca al ragù rosso → delicious, perfect balance between sweet and savory, truly on point Second course: • mashed potatoes with salami → substantial dish, bold, beautifully present, but very satisfying

I had dinner here for the first time and I have to say it was a very pleasant discovery. I ate really well. They were very good.
