This place makes you feel like you are at home. The kindness of the owners and the authenticity of the dishes are something spectacular. The dishes are good and tasty.

Cozy place, friendly staff and good food. Not very assorted, we wanted to try the trofie with pumpkin cream and bacon but at 2.00 pm they told us that they had already been finished for a while (it was a Sunday, however). The dishes are prepared in advance and then re-heated and served in plastic plates, but still good. I consider it an excellent solution for those who want to eat well, right in the center and spending little.

Simple place, well managed and with exquisitely friendly and smiling staff. We recommend booking, I think they are only open for lunch. Every day there is a good selection of first, second and side dishes or vegetarian dishes. Convenient 37.5 cl bottles of red suitable for two people. The two of us were quite hungry and we took two pumpkin and bacon trofie, an aubergine parmigiana and a portion of orecchiette with ragù and mozzarella. Really recommended also for the good sized portions and for the cost which is reasonable and adequate for the service offered.

During a wonderful day spent in Matera, we decided to have lunch at the "Da Nonna Rosa" restaurant with a group of friends, and the experience was simply unforgettable. The homemade dishes offered perfectly represent the Lucanian culinary tradition, each prepared with fresh and genuine ingredients that release authentic and irresistible flavours.
From the appetizer to the dessert, each course was a discovery of taste, enhanced by the passion and attention to detail that is clearly perceived in each dish. Among the specialties we tried, the grandmother's stew and the aubergine parmigiana deserve a special mention for their goodness.
The owner and her staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel at ease straight away. Their smile and kindness enriched the experience, making it even more pleasant. You can sense that their mission is to make customers feel at home, with a service that is both professional and warm.
The restaurant environment is very welcoming, characterized by decor that combines tradition and modernity in a harmonious way. Every detail is carefully taken care of, creating an intimate and relaxing atmosphere. The cleanliness is impeccable, something we really appreciated.
Another positive note concerns the prices, which are extremely fair considering the quality of the food and service offered. In an era in which it is difficult to find places that combine quality and affordable prices, "Da Nonna Rosa" represents a real gem.
In conclusion, if we ever have the opportunity to return to Matera, "Da Nonna Rosa" will undoubtedly be our first choice for a lunch or dinner. We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting an authentic and memorable dining experience in the beautiful setting of Matera.

One of my favorite foods in the world is Eggplant Parmigiana (Eggplant Parmigiana). My first visit to Tuscany in 2010 was fortuitous and in Siena the Eggplant Parmigiana was incredible. Since then I've searched Italy for the best best Eggplant Parmigiana and after 14 years, I found it at Da Nonna Rosa. It was the most impossible plate of love to enjoy on this American Thanksgiving here in Matera, Italy. Come to Matera and experience the impossible.

Posto semplice ma che rispecchia la tradizione a due passi dal centro di Matera. Tutto perfetto consiglio perché di mangia bene, prodotti ottimi e cibo tipico del posto. Prezzi giusti es coperto 2€ primo abbondante 8€ veramente top.

Piccolo locale nei pressi del centro storico di Matera. La cucina è quella tipica locale semplice ma gustosa. Il personale estremamente gentile e disponibile. Abbiamo provato le fave con la cicoria, la salsiccia di vitello, le polpette di pane e le orecchiette con le cime di rape. Tutto davvero ottimo. I prezzi sicuramente contenuti, 8€ per i primi 10€ per i secondi. Da consigliare.
