If you want to taste Abruzzo, you have to stop by Mauro's. We booked almost by chance, intrigued by the rich and promising menu... and we can say with certainty that it was a more than perfect choice! We were greeted with rare kindness and helpfulness: the waiter, with his sweetness and professionalism, made us feel truly at home. We started with an appetizer of game and local cheeses: an explosion of authentic flavors, with a special mention for the ricotta, simply incredible. Next, the mixed roast cooked over beech wood embers was a triumph of flavor, perfectly cooked, and irresistible aroma. During our week in Abruzzo, we had the opportunity to try several restaurants, all excellent, but here you can breathe and savor the true soul of the region. It's impossible not to want to return. And indeed... we did! To take home not only the flavors, but also the memory of an authentic and unforgettable experience. We love arrosticini!!! Congratulations indeed. A grill restaurant that deserves 5 stars!

Excellent mixed grill. Attentive, fast, and friendly service. Very quaint and well-kept location.

The appetizers were fantastic, the rest was problematic. The pasta was hand-rolled and of excellent quality, but it was a shame I found five wild boar hairs. When paying, not a word was said about how the meal went, no loyalty program, and the receipt didn't ask if they wanted to split the payment between us, so we had to make do.

Superlative dinner. Excellent ingredients, starting with the appetizer of mixed cold cuts and cheeses. Super fresh ricotta! Mixed roast platter with excellent quality meats, starting with the arrosticini, not to mention the lamb. The dishes were both generous and generous. We'll be back soon! Truly excellent. I know the PNALM area well, and it's one of the best I've ever dined at.

We had dinner with two steaks, two side dishes, two bottles of water, and one coffee, for a total of €100. Frankly, it's not a fair price for the location and type of restaurant.

I had asked for a plate of gnocchi with tomato sauce, and the gnocchi were the ones from the supermarket....the menu said that the various types of pasta were handmade....

We had lunch at this restaurant during our weekend in Abruzzo. It's small and cozy, the theme is beautiful, and above all, the food is divine. We ate fantastic meat—tasty, fresh, and of the highest quality. If you're in Villetta Barrea, lunch or dinner at Mauro's is a must! Highly recommended!

We happened upon this restaurant by chance, we ate very well, the first courses were delicious and plentiful (for me that was enough), excellent meat and arrosticini and superlative side dishes: fried potatoes with the skin, pan-fried radicchio and escarole with taggiasca olives and pine nuts (also plentiful). Prices adequate for the quality and quantity.

Location in buona posizione per chi come me è di passaggio, locale ben sistemato e curato con un titolare cortese e disponibile, cibo ottimo e un tagliere super gustoso. Sicuramente sarà ricordato da noi se siamo nella zona del lago di barrea. Da ritornare.
