A well-decorated, very welcoming restaurant with excellent food and excellent service. The price is fair. Definitely worth a try.

Passing through Ortona, we dined at this trattoria, which we stumbled upon while strolling. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. We started with mixed seafood bruschetta, followed by seafood spaghetti alla chitarra with calamari, shellfish, and cherry tomatoes, a chitarrina pasta with clams and bottarga, and, for the main course, an excellent fish broth and crostoni. All washed down with a lovely Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo rosé. A delicious dinner featuring fresh seafood.

On the advice of our apartment owner, we went to this small restaurant in the historic center (5-6 tables) without a reservation on a Sunday evening; they had a table for three, and we sat down for 20:50. We asked for water and were immediately brought, and after a 10-minute wait, they came to take our order (menu with QR code). 2 Appetizers - Mussels and Tutto au Gratinato 1 First Course - Spaghetti with Seafood 2 Second Courses - Fried Fish and Grilled Octopus 9:20 PM: Appetizers and fried fish (served as an appetizer upon request) were served, and the rest was served at 9:45 PM. 10:20 PM: Coffee and digestif. I noted the times because I was scared by the negative reviews, but from what we tried, everything was normal. Some better, some less, but overall, we had a good time.

Excellent fish at affordable prices

Ortona, a wonderful place, Mario's restaurant even more so.

Everything was good, cold appetizers and gratin dishes.... Spaghetti with clams and cod ravioli were excellent. Fried food was fresh and not greasy or heavy.... Good service, nice location.... I recommend the Tenuta Ulisse Melot Rosé wine, which was really good.

Fresh fish well cooked, the location is a bit dated, it's a shame it doesn't have outdoor spaces

Avevamo buone aspettative ma ne siamo rimasti delusi.. Il locale è un ex appartamento su due livelli, scomode scale e tavoli e non c'è giusta areazione, sio usciti Che puzzavano di fritto... Le ragazze che servono sono carine ma non basta, bisogna avere professionalità, e qui manca, anche la pulizia lascia a desiderare e la lentezza nello smaltire le comande e notevole. Il conto 120 euro per aver mangiato quello che vedrete in foto. Non ci torneremo.

Abbiamo prenotato questo ristorante cercando su internet un posto dove andare a pranzo per il primo maggio e mi hanno attratto le foto delle varie recensioni. Il locale non è grandissimo, ma molto accogliente, il personale è educato e disponibile, abbiamo ordinato 4 antipasti caldi e freddi, e 4 primi. Gli antipasti non sono esagerati come quantitativo, ma il pesce è fresco, il risotto allo scoglio ci è davvero piaciuto. Lo consiglio.
