The place may be unassuming, but it's WORTH it! Come in and try it – the pizza is excellent, crispy, the toppings are fresh, just fantastic! The wood-burning oven complements the atmosphere created by the very friendly lady 🙂 I definitely recommend it!

We visited this pizzeria and were truly thrilled. The pizza is delicious, but a special mention goes to the cecina: the best in all of Lucca, never seen or tasted so good! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, pure perfection. A million compliments to the woman who prepares these wonderful dishes: she's incredibly talented, cheerful, and incredibly professional. The prices are also very fair, and the excellent quality-price ratio makes up for it all. All the best to this business and all the staff, you deserve the best. Keep up the good work, we'll be back very soon! 🍕✨

Walked in late evening and as it turned out it was already closed, Ida was just packing up. But she offered me to make a last quick margarita, which I gladly took. There was a delivery driver waiting for an order who translated everything, since I don't speak Italian. It was a nice authentic friendly experience and the pizza was tasty. Would definitely recommend!

Very rustic, run by the super friendly Mama Ida. She makes really good pizzas in a wood-fired oven. The crust is thin and the toppings are more than generous, with a real tomato flavor. Pizzas in the old town are more expensive and not as good. The seating is very basic, and everything is available to go. We went to Mama Ida's twice in three days.

08/07/2026: Wandering the streets around Altopascio and looking for a place to eat, Google Maps, bless it, recommended this place. We arrived and found a beautiful panoramic spot, we immediately found parking (a miracle), and the lady even found room for five of us (tired and hungry dancers). First, I asked for a spuma (spuma = sparkling wine), which I hadn't had in ages, and no one said anything to me if I went to drink it on the bench in front of the place. We sat down, and they brought us a menu with many pizzas. We decided on an appetizer, and each of us chose our own pizza. It's unique, you eat it with your hands. We also had some excellent desserts and spent very little. The pizza has a special dough that doesn't puff up, it's thin and crispy (it's delicious), and most importantly, it didn't make my blood sugar spike. I'd go back tomorrow if I weren't 300 km away (but I will when I'm in the area).
28/06/2026: Group dinner with families, kids, and coaches. Professional welcome and service, very good focaccia, pizza, and cured meats. Everything arrived quickly. Wide selection of desserts. Excellent value. And for this African-like season, it's worth noting that the restaurant is equipped with peels, and thanks to its location, it's a pleasant place to stay in the evening.

22/05/2026: I ordered a gluten-free pizza, a Margherita with capers. Quality ingredients, excellent flavor, and perfect cooking. An experience worth repeating. Well done!
04/05/2026: Don't be fooled by the simplicity of the place or its suburban location: pizza here is a serious business. The atmosphere is very casual and no-frills, just like the pizzerias of old, but the quality of their gluten-free pizza is astonishing. It's hard to find anything this good: light, tasty, and carefully crafted. If you're looking for substance and authentic flavor, this is the place.
